  1. It's only the second competition. Visual will be cleaned up, if not changed (cough, cough, tomorrow). The Regiment knows what needs to be done and they always do it.
  2. Agreed. Their horn book is much more difficult than the previous seasons. They are starting to sound like class PR now, which is a good thing! Drill can be tweaked, too! They always manage to pull forward. They've had ONE show. Let's see where this goes.
  3. I would say they have 'modernized' some with the props they've used in the past, the electronics, etc. However, I hope that they continue to MARCH incredibly well and play beautifully on their BUGLES. Otherwise, we will eventually just be watching Broadway shows/dance competitions/gymnastics meets. I respect the fact that they have stayed true to their roots while continuing to remain in the top 12! Carry on, PR!
  4. Good opportunity to explain to them the true history of DRUM and BUGLE corps!
  5. Therein lies the question. Should DCI draw from some form of art found in another country or should it stick to its' roots of being actual drum and bugle corps?
  6. Yes. Alums are good at keeping each other informed with videos. They are coming out strong.
  7. Emmert is a die-hard PR guy. Why do you always try to bash the administration? You have a very negative outlook.
  8. And who are you guessing it is? Just curious.
  9. Who did you think was going to design the show?
  10. Gotta respectfully disagree with you on this one. I was excited to see what Will is capable of doing! It sounded like vintage PR during the 'opener'. He also wrote parts to let the middle horns shine and they are killing it. The solos are lovely as well. Last year's book was just too easy for them imho. Listen again.
  11. It thought a Russian gymnastic team designed them!
  12. I tried to find the messages, but just didn't get it. It just seemed like a lot of the same thing to me. Miss the green.
  13. I am in total agreement with you on those Cadets guard unis. The folks at our theater were appalled. It looks like they came out of some dirty dishwater and could the make-up make the girls look any less attractive? I feel like the Cadets just try to see how many steps they can get packed into those minutes, without slowing down to enjoy the moment and create some beauty. I liked Crown's western, but it looked like they were marching two horn holes, which really surprises me. Bluecoats? Didn't seem like bloo at all. Unis are not flattering to anyone and the scratches on the slides distracted me. Just no.
  14. Yep, one set of castanets was louder than the hornline for BC. Unfortunate.
  15. The Louisiana Stars are a class act and are improving by leaps and bounds. I predict they will continue that upward trend. A win would be great!
  16. Attend the annual PR alumni event at Rock Bottom for dinner, show, then hang at the buses to chat with old friends/members.
  17. "Keep your friend close and your enemies closer." ????
  18. The original IS considered a classic within the Regiment.
  19. Anyone old enough to remember the cut-out snares PR used in the early 80's? Wow. What a sound!
  20. Won't happen. Too many personal issues there.
  21. They'd be smart to get help from the alums that are professional musicians like Peter Bond of the Metropolitan Opera and Robert Nunez of the Louisiana Philharmonic. Mr. Nunez has helped the Louisiana Stars get off the a great start!
