Will be fun though. My favorite part of dci is the battle between 11-15. Unfortunately no glassmen this year. If its true that this year spirit isnt going to sputter at the end of the season, then they are in a great position. Very excited to see their show.

I wouldnt necessarily bet on blue stars making top 12. But its early. Anything can happen.

I am shocked, to say the least.

If true, is this a drill problem or just a mistake problem? I remember last year the blue stars had issues with people tripping over each other due to a very compact drill.

The thing is who falls out? Crossmen? Spirit? BK? Scouts? I predict crossmen edging out spirit this season. So my guess, if blue stars return, is spirit drops.

While pics are nice, if its not easy to do, don't bother. I would rather have commentary than pictures.

I suppose it depends on the phone. From personal experience my droid works fine with the full version and what not. I would offer to copy-paste the pics from twitter but i cannot guarantee that I will be following DCI after 9 as closely as i would need to. edit: 9 my time.

You can upload to a website like photobucket, or any other website where you can upload photos. you can them copy/paste the link, or if you can, use the "full version" of DCP and upload the images that way by going the normal route of posting the image link and the image will show up.

I respectfully disagree with having SCV outside of 2 points from the BD/Crown. I agree that BK has potential, i just wonder if they are playing their full show today. If yes they break 70, i think.

I guess we will have to use our imagination.

It could go either way. Im just surprised at how confident people are in the cadets. They do have a great show. We will see how it shakes down. Just some observations.

I think its curious how everyone expects the cadets to take it tonight, especially considering Phantom got 3rd last year and a full 1.5 points ahead of the cadets. This doesnt mean that phantom won't fall to 4th or 5th overall, but im not confident that the cadets will beat phantom, at least tonight. I havent heard or seen the cadets show, only heard phantom's. So this is just a guess. (Also not knowing what captions will be judged...) Phantom- 71.8 Cadets 71.2 Scouts- 68.6 Blue Stars- 63.8 Pioneer- 50.0

I had heard that it is ready but they want to debut it either at clovis or stanford.

Last year my friends and i went to allentown. We went into the show "blind" for many of the not top 15 corps. We were crying during jersey surf when the guy dressed up as a judge started dancing. Nothing will beat that for me at least.

First season in a while with no Vou in the white and black. But looks to be a great show. Very excited. This is a "Dark Knight Rises" themed show right? (Joke)

In what way do we mean traditional? Do we mean it as "old school drum corps"? Do we mean it as "returning to their roots"? Because if my memory serves me right, SCV has never done a les mis show or used les mis as anysource material. Phantom is always so rigis with the shows they play, they do a good job of it mind you, but i think they are the typical traditional corps. And yes, historically the vanguard has been at the forefront of several changes to DCI, pushing the sport forward. But has always represented a deep level of tradition. The idea that you can do new bold things while having a love of tradition is a neat thing about SCV. And the perfect example of this is their uniform this year. Unafraid to change the uniform but it still has the aussie, the star, the stripe. That being said their shows under fiedler have had a nice balance of risk and fan pleasing. Risks being eureka, bartok, the devils staircase. Fan pleasing being ballet for martha, starry night, and now les mis. So i dont think les mis is traditional vanguard. But its done in traditional vanguard style. But phantom is probably the most traditional.

I really dig SCVs uniforms. They left no stone unturned. The javert DM uniforms are flawless. Using the star the way they did is awesome. It is still undeniably vanguard. Has there ever been a uniform that has embodied the show as much as these uniforms? I will say no. I think that the guard unis are great as well. Really just the perfect uniform. At least in my opinion. Of the corps that really changed their uniforms, i think SCV wins.

I do really like their new ones. Blue Stars also with Blue in their uniforms again, huge plus for me. sometime tonight SCV will post their new uniforms.... given the anticipation, i expect greatness.
