  1. The Blue Devils do what they do, and they do it remarkably well every single year. No other corps has a record anywhere close to their's. Some people hate them, which I feel is extremely inappropriate, and some love them and what they do, such as I. Everyone has an opinion, but to the people spewing hate at them, don't they realize that the Blue Devils work just as hard as any other corps on the field. Doing the same things everyday. They just so happen to have a formula down that guarantees wins. You can't hate on success. It's like saying " Oh, I hate Bill Gates! He's too rich!" He got rich by doing what he does extremely well, just like the Blue Devils. When it all comes down to it, it's about the people actually marching the show not the show design or music. It's about time BD got some love from DCP. LOVE YOU BD!!!
  2. To march with the Crossmen in my rookie year!
  3. Really? I'm of the opposite opinion. I love Phantom's tubas. BD's tubas just don't speak to me as much as Phantom. To each their own though
  4. I don't understand why is there isn't love for Open Class!
  5. I've seen this topic in the World Class forum and was just wondering, if some of the best High School bands in the nation i.e. Broken Arrow, Ayala...were to compete in Open Class what do you think their placement would be in respect to the Open Class Corps already in competition. Your opinions should be interesting.
  6. I was offered a spot on the hornline to fill a spot. I didn't take it because it was too late in the season and too late to get everything prepared. Now I'm kind of glad I didn't take that spot. Real sorry for the guys out there in Forte this summer. I'm sure it must really suck. Good luck to you all!
  7. I think drum corps is perfect as it is today. Yes I've seen the older shows and they are still awesome to this day, but what is on the field today is just as much drum corps as drum corps was in the 70's or 80's.
  8. I think the smaller corps are a large part of what keeps drum corps, drum corps. Don't get me wrong I love the big corps, i.e. Blue Devils, Carolina Crown. But the little guys like Genesis, Forte, Revolution are just as much a corps as the Blue Devils.
  9. Gosh, I hope the show doesn't rain out. I would give anything to be there right now!
  10. Surprisingly I'm loving the Cadets show this year. It's so different that in it's own way it's kind of amazing
  11. I'm from New Mexico so I'm pretty close. I've looked into Forte, I don't think it's really what I'm looking for. As for Crossmen I would love to audition for them and I fully intend to at some point but I don't think I'm quite that level yet.
  12. I'm a high school student who plays trumpet and I was wondering if Genesis would be a good place to start with my drum corps experience. I've listened to what few videos they have up and I like what I see and hear. I'm ready for the hard work and the fees but I just kind of wanted some other opinions from you people out there.
  13. I think Genesis will go far. From what I've seen I think they're pretty good. But hey what do I know, I'm just a noob.
  14. I was referring to both. Hits, passages, doesn't matter to me. Just what are the loudest and most impressive moments in drum corps history?
  15. In your opinion what are some of the best hard-hitting impacts in DCI history?
  16. Blue Devils will probably take first. Just a gut feeling. Would love to see the Crossmen in finals though.
  17. The Albuquerque show was really good!! Believe me!! For being so early in the season the Cadets and Blue Devils were very clean!
  18. Maybe the Albuquerque show on June 19. But I may go to the Crossmen eXperience camp on the 15th in San Antonio so I don't know if I'll make the show.
  19. 1. Hoping to see Phantom Regiment get into the top three again. 2. Hoping to see Crossmen back in the top 12.
  20. I would actually prefer to have some older-style jazz music brought back in, instead on this new wave crap.
  21. Aside from all the G7 subplot going on here, I thought some of your views were very good and eye-opening. I suppose I shouldn't have used the word hate in this thread though. I personally love the Blue Devils and would love to some day be part of that great organization. Hearing the opinions of the "older" guys sure has helped. Thanks
  22. Well hey I just wanted to see some opinions, Don't need to call me stupid for it. For a matter of fact I love BD. I find their shows extremely entertaining.
  23. I swear I watched the full first half of a Ohio game just hoping to see the band at half-time. What do you know, replays and commercials. I don't even like football so I had wasted a full hour and a half of my life.
  24. I'm just wondering why there are so many very conflicting opinions on the Blue Devils. Give your opinion, good or bad, on the Blue Devils.
