  1. I love it! Sure, it may cover the 50, but I do love seeing it!!!
  2. This was actually the last year of these uniforms, 2010-2012. I'll be looking into buying mine, pretty sure I had the same one for the last two years :)
  3. We did it like that last year. At first it was a pain in the ###, trying to figure out who to watch at which parts of the show. Later on in the season though? Loved it. It helped with playing towards the box too, because you could see two people conducting while pointing straight forwards (if you're on the 50)
  4. Man, that would be incredible if we could meet Mr. Moren
  5. I like this because it's basically what I think about when performing the show (this part in particular).
  6. Sittin in the Ball State locker rooms now.... A storm came out of nowhere! Wind came in strong, temperature dropped like 20 degrees, and it's raining and has been for a good 15 minutes. So all of us and the BOA kids got rushed inside. I don't want this show to get rained out, I love this venue :(
  7. Yep. Rehearsing there today. It's fun, can only see the upper half of the drum major on some sets
  8. I've heard nothing beyond the show title for Bluecoats... How's the show shaping up?
  9. Proud to say that the band director at the high school I went to marched Future Corps for a year or two!
  10. Honestly, a lot of push ups. And holding up weight at carry for periods of time. I'd hold my horn/a gallon of water during commercials in the off-season. And if you don't think you have chops for baritone, there's always 2nd baritone!
  11. I'm really happy to see this community get behind us so much this year! You all may be pumped to see us perform, and trust me when I say that we are really excited to perform it for you. There's absolutely nothing about this show I don't like! And it's a show that is very challenging, but one that the crowd will understand and (hopefully) enjoy. PS: Almost up to the ballad on the field :D 2 more weeks!
  12. We got the opener on the field as a full corps today! Ran through the end of the pre-show to the end of the opener, and it is awesome. Can't wait for you all to see it.
  13. Packing my bags as I type this :) Kinda sucks to realize "Oh yeah, I'm doing this again..." At the same time, I can't wait to get on the road and do some running band.
  14. Agreed, but still hard. Running straight down a field at 4-to-5's is fine, but saying that running that step size in drill without a horn is easy doesn't strike me as true. Easier than doing it while playing, absolutely. But it's still difficult. Don't get me wrong... I've always disliked the way the Cavaliers march and how simple most of their drill is. Again, their drill writer does a great job of writing simple 4 count moves that look really hard. But, I still give them credit for when they do hard things.
  15. 1-2. Crown/Blue Devils (either way) 3. Cavaliers 4. SCV 5. Phantom Regiment 6. Cadets 7. Bluecoats 8. Madison Scouts 9. Blue Stars 10. Boston Crusaders 11. Spirit of Atlanta 12. Boston Crusaders
  16. Big step sizes are big step sizes.... They're difficult with or without horns.
  17. Hey now... If you guys are having cookouts and stuff, at least stop by every now and then to give me a brat or a burger. Or gatorade :3
  18. This is something I always tell people, because that's always been one of my biggest criticisms of the Cavaliers. I do agree, the drill makes it look like they're working a lot. But you have to admit, they take a lot of 4-to-5's and larger during their shows.
  19. I don't know much about it, at all. But my guesses Being a midwest corps, they're around that tall, crappy grass all the time. Why waste energy pushing through the grass when you can march over it? A good chunk of their sets are insane, and would be impossible to do (properly and cleanly) with straight leg technique. Again, I really have no clue seeing as how I don't have any interaction with any Cavies... But those seem logical to me
  20. Gotta stick with the good ole sleeping bag at Crown.
  21. I enjoyed the hell out of that chord, got to hear it live at Allentown (on Friday night we got to go see the show). But I feel like, in editing, DCI makes all corps balanced out for the DVD and stuff. I don't know if this is true or not though.
  22. Gotta admit, I lol'd when I first heard this title. Just too good
  23. Someone posted videos of the Osaka Concert Band playing the 1st and 3rd movement of the piece, I bet you could rip the audio for that!
  24. I haven't heard anything about this show, but a professor I know is involved with Spirit, and he's always really excited when talking to him about the 2012 season. So, I'm looking forwards to seeing what kind of program they're going to put on the field.
