Heh, I live in Sunnyvale...not very far from Lockheed. SCV doesn't have one specific dedicated practice/camp site. If they utilize King's Academy, it's about 5 minutes away from Lockheed.

While SCVC is doing limited touring, they will be performing at the DCI Southwestern Championships (San Antonio). One of the issues that Jeff Fiedler pointed out at the Team SCV meeting earlier this month was the performance factor (lack of). In scheduling the tours for this season (going Northwest, then Southwest), SCVC will have the opportunity to perform more frequently.

It was confirmed at this morning's SCV team meeting that the Vanguard Cadets will NOT be going to Indianapolis. They will be doing a Northwest tour & a Southwest tour.

Next meeting: February 6, 2010.

I just posted this recently - RCC '89 doing BD's opener from '89 & Madison's closer from '88.

BD's program coordinator from that year is James Logan's band director (since 1997).

Give BK a try first. Since you're only a junior in high school, it should be easier financially. You're just taking your very first steps at this point, and you'll have 5-6 more years more to re-evaluate.

Might have been outdone by their post-finals performance in San Jose in 2004 as part of the Tour of Champions when the drum major initiated the chord on the podium, then ran up the steps of the lower deck, flew up the steps to the upper deck, got the crowd pumped up more before remembering to cut off the corps.

Maybe DCI is looking to add synchronized swimming & playing to General Effect? First time I saw it, the Devils were in the pool at Clovis High School near Fresno. Kinda' neat.
