Anybody who marched in a corps taught by Carmen Cluna knew 4 things:
1. The ever present cigarette that could be thrown away in dramatic fashion when he saw something wrong and was about to chew some butts.
2. "The whistle" that hung around his neck that when he blew it you ran as fast as you could(yes tympani players too)to the starting line from wherever you were.
3. God forbid you were late for rehearsal, 8'oclock didn't mean getting there, that was when the first run of the opener started
4. He was a hell bent perfectionist who wanted everyone to eventually learn what they were capable of if they were willing to give 100% to achieve it, if they weren't , they got the "AXE".
