  1. While I wouldn't call hurricane Irene a bust, it appears not to be as bad as advertised
  2. If I'm not mistaken , the going on last thing was only in Prelims
  3. You can, it's pretty close to the new place, by the way, I have, lol
  4. The Doubletree looks like party central
  5. haha, the player giving the business was Mark Gastineau
  6. As noted in a previous post Fusion's high score was a 174 which was attained in Lewisburg
  7. Fusion scored a 17.4 in Lewisburg and the Govies received a 17.7 in St Paul followed by a 16.9 in St Peter, those saints aren't coming from the same parish. Also, re check your standings unless 177 beats 187,lol
  8. I'm praying that Irene decides she doesn't like us and goes out to sea
  9. yeah they had a pretty hefty jump from a 165 in St. Paul to the 178 in St. Peter
  10. Re check, mine came from the same place
  11. Govies guard scored a 17.8 on Sunday at the St. Peter Minn show
  12. I think a bit of both, I call the years between 1965-75 the "Give the Drummer some" era as so many things happened to bring percussion to the forefront a bit more from instrumentation innovations to something as simple as the black dot and silver dot drum heads (which were cool as heck in those days).
  13. I'm a old dog who loves new tricks, been involved since 1958, still involved. I loved the activity coming up and still love it today. There are some things I'd rather not see happen but if it's done well, I'll eventually get over it or not be involved , so, I guess you'd call me a dino with a evolved mindset.
  14. Saw a mention of that early then that was it, was wondering how things turned out there
  15. The highest score I've seen for the Govies was a 16.1 and a 16.5 for the Kilties. Reading is at a 19.0
  16. I hear that 2 lawn chairs were completely demolished
  17. Getting rid of the Kilts was a opinion, doesn't make it right. It's something that no one else has, if anything, own it more and find more ways to make that unique item work for you. that would be my take on it.
  18. I predict on Sunday everyone will know who's going on in what order, then the real speculation can begin.
  19. No one had tympani on the field before the 1968 season, Everyone who used them that year were the first. btw, St.Joseph Patron had a set of double tenors on the field in 1968, I don't remember seeing anyone else with them,at least on the east coast. The big thing was horizontal bass drums and of course tympani that year.
  20. Why argue these points when there's no resolution possible. Having been around bitd, I understand where Elphaba is coming from for the corps he speaks of were every bit as good for that time as the best corps are today. However I also from still being involved in the activity realize that what's being done today is light years ahead in terms of content and presentation. As Liz pointed out , drum corps isn't the only area where these arguments can be waged, it's just a exercise in futility imo. Everyone should just enjoy what you did\do during your time and leave it at that. As also pointed out, things will never go back to where they were.
  21. I don't doubt that it is but I am pretty sure it will be longer than you may think.
  22. Honestly , with corps struggling with basic things like travel costs, etc, I don't see these "extras" as being a issue anytime in the near future.
  23. As a alum of the Bushwackers, I hope the future brings a brighter day for the corps. The reasons why the corps is where they are right now can be speculated upon with a lot of hearsay which serves no purpose here.
