  1. Portable projection screen on the back 50 live broadcasting a member wearing a Go Pro...or filming the corps from back.
  2. All of them put in just as hard an effort as everyone else. Forget scores, enjoy the show.
  3. Where are they getting their info? Gesh...have and broadcast a discussion re GE and it's inaccurate.
  4. I didn't verify...figured If they mentioned it they at least checked for accuracy. Should have known
  5. I heard on a flo marching discussion that for the past 11 years the winner has won GE.
  6. G and Z were judging GE. G scored them low but Z scored them high. G missed some visuals completely. Z jumped on him about how he could miss it. G said had he seen it, their content score would have been higher.
  7. I don't know...possibly as they learn more they see more content...?
  8. The only explaination I've heard is 1. Judges begin to learn the shows and pick up on things they hadn't noticed before and 2. As the show cleans up, it becomes more readable and clearer for the judges to see and hear. Things are also pointed by out staff to them in critique thus educating judges on what to look for in areas they may not have noticed before.
  9. I think as soon as the members can stop thinking about performing and just perform they can sell it. Worst thing that can happen during a performance is to think about it...just do it. Every show, every single show, I was told 1. Don't forget to breath and 2. Don't think. Let it flow through you. Be the show. They gotta get there.
  10. And this is drum corps for 99.99% of every corps every year. This is what it's about. Imo.
  11. Saw the vid...seems to me he's saying, ok heard enough, we are gonna do what we are gonna do. As long as the members are learning and growing, scores are irrelevant. Do you like the show? Great! No? That's ok too. It's all good.
  12. Crossmen made a delta at finals in 2015...maybe last year too.
  13. Ahh haa...Last night...find the video. https://www.instagram.com/spirit_of_atlanta/
  14. Cool. Thanks. What I posted was 2015. Couldn't find last night's.
  15. Lot of respect between these two corps. When SoA had their issue 2 years ago, Crossmen alum got together and helped...many stories like this over the years.
  16. I thought it was very cool...not just a selfie, but a hang session.
  17. Figured this may get broader exposure here. Cool story... This is what Drum Corps IS about… About 3 weeks ago, someone I have not spoken with in a really long time, IM’d me on Facebook. She said she and her daughter were attending the DCI show in Birmingham, and mentioned how her daughter, who marches guard in HS, absolutely loves Spirt of Atlanta’s guard. She goes on to say that she would really like to surprise her daughter by being able to have her meet just one guard member from SoA, and by the way, it also happened to be her birthday. She was aware of my past affiliation with SoA and asked if I could do anything. She wants to set up a meeting with a guard member so she can surprise her daughter on her birthday?? Absolutely I’ll see what I can do… After reaching out to some folks on staff and explaining the situation…Jen, the guard caption head, responded and said we will absolutely make this happen. Yesterday, Jen IM’s me and says for them to be at the souvie booth approximately 30 minutes after they come off the field, she has arranged for the guard section leader, herself and another guard member to spend 30 minutes with her. These pictures below say it all don’t you think? She IM’d me after saying her daughter cried and was left speechless afterwards. Spirit went above and beyond in this case…and just seeing the look on her face when she found what was about to happen is priceless. Well done & happy to have been a part of it. We get caught up in scores and placements and fail to remember just how much of an influence Corps have on others and the “rock star” persona that follows it sometimes. With all the crap in the world, this made me happy. https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/6c05/d01cwnm6ukob2b16g.jpg Finding out what's about to happen. https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/992a/lqb1zz12vls12wl6g.jpg https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/4628/jmwkbe7w4myc9en6g.jpg She spent about 15 minutes with them, talking about guard stuff...told her mom it was the best b-day ever. Thanks for the help Brasso and Liahona.
