  1. I agree with your second sentence, unfortunately. The implication that Roman owns everything is hard to fathom.
  2. That’s his home address. Pioneerland is in Cudahy, Wi.
  3. Looks like he created his own division in DCI, “teaching” corps.
  4. Curious that their Facebook page hasn’t had any activity since August 13. I wonder if someone is busy deleting comments or it’s a case of “I really don’t care, do you?”.
  5. They also own a big chunk of land with facilities and a practice field.
  6. The wheels are spinning in my head to think of a way to provide a future for Pioneer. I know people on boards of local arts organizations. Do I just cold call them and say “take over this organization”? I sure as heck aren’t getting involved.
  7. He seems like the type who would dig in his feet. He’s had free reign over that corps for so long, nothing is going to change.
  8. I remember seeing an interview from DCI Southwest with the Pioneer drum major. She mentioned in an offhand way the challenges the corps was facing on tour. I thought it was in reference to their competitive standing, apparently not. I’ve been searching the dci archives for the interview.
  9. Tim K brought up an interesting point in a post right above concerning bylaws. I wonder if one of the bylaws is an annual review of the executive director. Seeing as how Roman basically runs the board I don’t see how that would be possible.
  10. Also, a Murray Davis is listed under administration and BoD.
  11. The cynic in me thinks they do it because they have to in order to field a corps, not out of altruism.
  12. Ahhhhh...Uncle Walt! I needed that after wading through some of these threads.
  13. I haven’t read through this entire thread but, good lord! I’ll say this, i was unfamiliar with SCV’s music but it grabbed by the b**** upon my first listen. (I also have a music degree although it’s not from the prestigious Juilliard school, BFA bassoon performance.)
  14. Unfortunately, what they should do and what they will do will never intersect. Bring the BoD into the 21st century. The corps director should not also be a board member.
  15. Nobody said that directly here but that does seem to be the vibe out there in general.
  16. I don’t mind people protesting, just do it in a way that doesn’t make me uncomfortable! Smh
  17. It’s kind of ironic that Crossmen had a more “phantom” show than Regiment and the two performed back to back.
  18. Colts! There’s your heart and soul! Thanks for warming my cold stone of a heart. Lol
  19. Yes! That’s exactly what he means. The member’s rations have been cut beyond even a subsistence level. It’s a travesty! I’ve heard of but can’t confirm the Donner Party allegations.
  20. This post is like a breath of fresh air. Thanks.
