Thank you for a useful post that is relevant to the topic at hand. While it's been said already, I tend to agree with Dancer in the Dark, Canon in D, and I enjoyed Bluecoats version of Someday I'll Fly Away last year as well.

Similar story, except I never want to march on a football field again. Well, not so much that I don't want to, but I think it's time to move on with life and end my marching career on the field at DCI World Championships. Not a shabby way to go out if you ask me. I have nothing against senior corps though. If that's your cup of tea then I support it completely, it's just not mine.

From what I hear, the reason the Crossmen are worse off financially is because their alumni donate less and their souvie boothes don't do as well. I somehow doubt that anything the Cadets spend money on is dipping out of the Crossmen's finances.

While it wasn't a sappy make you cry story, the Cadets did experiment with a more theatrical type show this year.

DCP is a horrible representation of drum corps fans. It's the elite few who eat, drink, and sleep drum corps, NOT your casual fans. I have friends who are drum corps fans, they didn't even know amps were illegal up until last year. I myself didn't know until I auditioned somewhere and heard discussions about the antichrist wanting to add dreaded amps to our pure and perfect world. Edit: On another note, several of my friends who knew nothing at all about drum corps before watching Finals on ESPN have said a lot of great things about the Cadets drum speak. Only one person I know said he didn't like it, everyone else that I have talked to thought it was really cool. It was one girls favorite part of the entire show (Finals, not just Cadets)

It's odd that you are criticizing someone with 7 posts in over a year of being a member for spending all his time on here.

Several people I talked to said they could barely watch it because of all the interviews and talking. They liked the actual marching though, and wanted to see more of that.

The announcement of "You may enter the field for competition" is when the timing starts. If he had done all that before the on field warm up they would have probably been over time by half a minute... interestingly enough, that would be a 1 point penalty and in the grand scheme of things wouldn't have mattered

The definition as it applies to corp is irrelevant considering corp is an abbreviation for corporation and corps is not. That's like giving the definition of their for there
