  1. 2001's "Late Night Jazz" is not only my favorite Crossmen show, but one of my all-time favorite DCI shows to listen to.
  2. Kanstul... glad to see a corps pick up the brand again. Looking forward to how Genesis sounds this year. I was disappointed when SoA got rid of their Kanstuls.
  3. No one has said anything about BK's percussion staff announcement. I don't know who was on staff last year, so I'm not sure what has changed. Hopefully they had a lot of retention; getting 4th in on-field percussion in finals was a pretty huge achievement. http://ascendperformingarts.org/blue-knights-announce-2018-percussion-staff/
  4. Maybe because not everyone likes the new style. Maybe because the Cavaliers aren't above criticism. For what it's worth, I agree that this year's Cavaliers show was indeed a "visual vomit fest".
  5. Pardon my ignorance, but who is this guy? edit: nevermind, answered in a different thread.
  6. Go read the announcement. A bit of reading comprehension will answer your questions.
  7. The announcement literally says he's expecting a newborn and is taking time off to spend with the family.
  8. Looks like Weber is taking time off for his family. He may be back.
  9. Gaines as drill writer for SCV: https://www.scvanguard.org/2018-scv-design-staff/
  10. That does not inspire confidence on my part. I'm pretty disappointed that BK let Toth slip off to PR.
  11. Well, they have an incredible symphonic sound, better than my university's wind symphony. Nice to see a level of precision that's been lacking in DCI over the last few years.
  12. I don't mind cleaning up a bit. SCV 2015 had the keyboard soloist patched in from the semifinals performance, and I'm pretty grateful for that. But as you said, it's pretty minor compared to the problems Crown had this season. They got third though still, so I guess they should be proud of their performance.
  13. I hope all the errors are left in. That was their finals performance. Live by electronics, die by electronics. If corps don't want that sort of thing to happen, maybe they should reduce their usage and ensure what they do use is as near bulletproof as possible.
  14. I have no idea who their new caption head is for brass. I'm glad Bocook will be back as arranger, but I'm a bit worried about how their brass will sound next season. It was so glorious this year...
  15. That's a huge score for the Buccs. Well deserved, IMO.
  16. Well, that was quite enjoyable. Hopefully more DCA events will be streamed next year. I'll definitely spring for the year Flo package if that is the case.
  17. The Buccaneers are on a whole 'nother level. Wow.
  18. DCI rules prevent corps from using tarps on real grass. They can only use them on artificial turf.
  19. I think Atlanta CV would easily make DCI semifinals. (Rules notwithstanding)
  20. I wasn't aware of that. Maybe Four Corners uses some themes from Niagra Falls? I'm not familiar with 2000 Cavaliers. Time to do some listening I think.
  21. Wasn't that 2000? I thought 2001 was entirely composed by Saucedo. Did he contribute music to White Sabers' show this year?
