  3. This is not a drum corps posting, but I am trying to reach out to the drum corps community to ask for help for a small community in upstate New York that was devastated by Hurricane Irene - Prattsville, New York. Winter is coming, and the need for help - volunteers and supplies - is still very great. FLOOD DISASTER AREAS STILL NEED VOLUNTEERS ~ PRATTSVILLE http://www.thedailymail.net/articles/2011/09/28/news/doc4e82b2dc1715c992695171.txt'>http://www.thedailymail.net/articles/2011/09/28/news/doc4e82b2dc1715c992695171.txt George Williams of the Huntersfield Christian Training Center who has been working in Prattsville since 9 am the day of Hurricane Irene noted " noted that the volunteers have been a huge help to the locals, but the need is far from over and numbers have been dwindling." “The first weekend, we had 800 volunteers,” per day, he noted. “The second weekend, 400, the third weekend 175 and on the fourth, we had 125 on Saturday and 34 on Sunday.” Monday through Friday, the volunteers ranged between 30 and 40 per day. But the need for volunteers is still far from over. As the town transitions into the rebuilding phase, skilled laborers and tradesmen such carpenters, electricians, plumbers will be sorely needed to bring the town back to life. “We still need volunteers,” he noted. “It’s still all hands on deck.” To volunteer or otherwise donate good and services, the recovery center can be contacted at 347-633-1536 or 347-782-2667. Below are some Videos posted about the disaster: Prattsville Flood 2011 aftermath Prattsville NY Irene Flood Disaster Part 1 Prattsville NY Irene Flood Disaster Part 2 Prattsville NY Irene Flood Disaster Part 3 My interest in this is personal since my folks own a house above Prattsville; our neighbors need more help than any one person or family can give. 6. Wow . . . I am glad that no one got hurt. On Sunday, the ride back east on the Thruway was frought with torrential rain, winds, and even a Tornado caught by someone on YouTube Some of our upstate crew got caught up in the same storm. Hope things work out and that the insurance helps you replace equipment and trailer.
  7. Thanks to everyone for giving us the play by play, for providing pictures and offering streaming video of Prelims and Finals!!!!
  8. Just gonna say that . . . but there were other discussions here, too. Back to the play by play.
  9. Sorry for the misunderstanding, not rephrasing .. . you kept saying something about members being with a corps the entire year. That is why I wondered.
  10. So you are against members of DCI corps coming back after DCI to march in DCA corps? Should there be a mandatory cut-off date for membership in DCA corps or should DCA corps stop recruiting at a certain point? Just extrapolating and wondering.
  11. Ben,

How much would freight be for a 3v Flugel Horn to New York, United States?

    Thanks,

    Doreen Sandor

  17. Thanks for sharing this information, Frank. Like Bobby Burke, I marched with Bushman at Sky in 1982. He was a great brass player and musician, and it was an honor and pleasure to get to know him during that time. RIP, Mike Melvin. Sincerest sympathies to Mike's family and friends.

  22. It was so windy up top at Prelims, that the wind was making the stands sound like the horns from the World Cup! At times that sounds was louder than the corps (in the soft parts!)
  23. Hello! Thanks for the reviews . . . where can we go for to see the live feed? Thanks for your hard work.
