My son marched 8 years & sounds like a freshly poured bowl of Rice Krispies when he moves. I fear his future medical bills! 😂 -

I will always root for my little corner of the continent - we've had a rough go at it this past decade! I'm glad to see Cascades on the field & I applaud each & every member for their passion, strength, & tenacity!! At the end of the day, your placement is not a reflection on you, but of the need for change at the very very top. For the members, be proud of all you do & know we support you!! #206 -

If a keytar & cello were allowed, why not a harmonica? -

"Kiai" An asian-themed show where guard utilizes flags, bo staff, sabers like swords, fans (flipping fans is awesome), etc to further bring in the kata/martial art theme. Those who know martial arts and drum corps could probably envision this with me. -
The "best experience" and "biggest challenge" is defined by each individual member. Some would actually disagree that BD is that for them. For many, it's less about the win, I agree. What does that corps, the membership, the staff, the experience say to you? If that doesn't feel like home, it's not for you. Our son found his home elsewhere & stayed there, by choice & happily. He is proud to have marched to his corps despite being able to move up. It was about more than rings and winning, and it always will be. When they start alternating who gets to practice at the indoor colts field, priority equipment truck parking, etc. I will start believing that favoritism doesn't exist. The minute the Troopers, Colts, & Academy are allowed the same access as Crown, BD, Bloo, I will buy it. Until that point, there is no telling me politics doesn't play a HUGE part in ALL of this. For better or worse, right here right now.

Bloo is still playing. I LOVED the Alumni Corps, but we are still waiting for the Age-Out ceremony and scores. After the Hall of Fame awards plus this plus Alumni, now the blended corps...it feels a little long IMO. I was jumping up and down for that alumni corps though!!! I don't have a problem with it, but if we could not do it all at once I think it would create a better impact.

Percussion is interesting tonight. When the same judge is judging multiple nights in a row, he is going to build expectations and call them as he sees them. Last night, he liked what he saw from BAC. Tonight, not so much - SCV brings home percussion. This could be a major factor in this caption at Finals. Consistency will be key!

So why even watch anymore? If this corps has it perfectly figured out with perfect execution and no one can beat them, why do any of it? I know Drum Corps builds a ton of other beneficial traits, but at that point, why not consider another model? It loses it's luster if the same team wins constantly. Hence the reason the superbowl winners get the worst draft pick.
