  1. If you read the comments on corps social media pages like Instagram, you’ll see a completely different view on the uniforms/shows/literally anything else. I’m a youngin’ myself but I come here because there is no other site that has that love for drum corps that spans 20+ years... I find that to be an extremely important part of the conversation. Hell I’ve learned so much stuff just from reading the comments on here these past couple years. There’s a lot that can be learned from all the generations. Some young fans don’t like the old and some older don’t like the new. I wish I could hear a g bugle line for example, but I understand change is necessary. I think the takeaway here is that DCI is something that only happens for a couple months once a year, and you’ll notice regardless of what opinion we have on the changes, we find ourselves coming back every year excited to be entertained by the hard work the boys and girls do. That should be enough 🙂 it is for me at least.
  2. Best corps I’ve heard so far.... bravo BAC, that was incredible!
  3. Well to fix it once and for all I’d have cavaliers win the bronze medal with bluecoats in 4th and everyone down two. Sorry X-men and music city 😕 (watch me have forgotten someone else lol)
  4. I’m just trying to find a way to calm my hype 😫
  5. How does it work? I haven’t seen it happen in this decade, at least that I remember.
  6. I regret even doing a what I want list now... lol
  7. Ahhh I knew I was forgetting a corps! Sorry BC 🥶 I would have them... tie for 4th, just so Music City can still be in finals!
  8. Could this really be a championship show for Crown? Considering the criticism they’ve been getting these past few years, this exciting buzz seems promising...
  9. What I think will happen 1. Blue Devils 2. Carolina Crown 3. Santa Clara Vanguard 4. Bluecoats 5. Cavaliers 6. Boston Crusaders 7. Blue Stars 8. Blue Knights 9. Cadets 10. Mandarins 11. Crossmen 12. Madison Scouts What I want to happen 1. Carolina Crown 2. Cadets 3. Blue Devils 4. Santa Clara Vanguard 5. Boston Crusaders 6. Blue Stars 7. Blue Knights 8. Madison Scouts 9. Mandarins 10. Spirit of Atlanta 11. Crossmen 12. Music City
  10. I wasn’t able to go to the theatre last year unfortunately... but I’ll be sure to go this year! That’s awesome you live close enough to go to NightBEAT! Very jealous. I normally go to the southwestern regional, but I think I might go to Katy. I’ve never been to an outdoor competition other than a BK exhibition way back in 2010, hardly remember it though sadly. If you ever come across a bandit bootleg... let a friend know 🤐😉
  11. All these positive comments are driving me insane I need to hear something!!! 😫
  12. Khachaturian sounds exactly how I imagined. So awesome!!
  13. I personally have enjoyed everything I’ve heard from them so far, I’m thankful they even put stuff out this early. A lot of corps care about holding off till they sound pretty ready to compete, and that’s fine, but I appreciate Cadets’ vulnerability with their postings. I think everyone’s just a bit anxious right how from hearing so little, but I don’t think Cadets are in trouble at all. You can’t say that about every other corps, so I think that’s definitely a positive. Give it a few more weeks y’all!
  14. sooo excited about this. will be one of the best brass moments of the season!
  15. A smart idea in my opinion. John Williams has one of the toughest licensing restrictions, but as a result, a lot of people in coming years will miss out on a lot of really underrated works by him. in 100 years he'll be known as the "famous soundtrack composer", when he's written multiple concertos, chamber music etc. I would want my father's compositions to be as accessible as possible to future generations. Wasn't that the whole point anyway?
  16. I figured they were going to go towards a similar sort of niche as Babylon as well. Lack of communication seems to be a trend found in a lot of art forms from film to music to art to even drum corps. Most art forms are reflective of the social conditions we live in, hence the darker shows we've been getting these past few years. The youth of today are full of more angst than I would say ten years ago, and I think these types of shows are perfect for them. 12.25 (even though it was far from being the best Cadets show), doesn't seem to resonate as much, compared to that of say, Inferno for example.
  17. Maslanka 4 as a closer is SO Cadets. This show looks very promising!
  18. I wouldn't say it's a wealthy kid activity... I'm trying to think of one person I know that's marched that didn't do some sort of fundraising or money saving. It's very expensive, but not impossible if you aren't in an upper class. I will say it's impossible to know how much talent has been missed on due to finances but...it's not something you can really approximate.
  19. I won't say yes, but yes. Agreed, I posted on here maybe a year or two ago how I wanted Crown to play it.... I'm fine with the Devils doing it though. They'll add their own little twist to it.
  20. psssssst ..... y'all like khachaturian? and 40 trumpets? 👀
  21. I think as a preshow, or a quieter opener a la scv 16 or bk 15 for example, a good piece would be Manny's Gym by John Adams. Lots of meter changes and the whole piece sorta feels suspended in time.
