  1. There have been incidents when a card reader has been inserted into an ATM slot. You slide your card into the ATM not knowing that it's going through a reader as it gets into the machine. A very small camera then watches you put in your pin #.
  2. Do you use your card at the gas station. We had one station near work that had compromised card readers. Distract the clerk and do the old switcheroo.
  3. My card was stolen and used in a jewelry store to buy expensive trinkets....15 minutes after it was stolen. The bank was only interested in me signing an affidavit before giving me a replacement card. I started asking questions as to what they were going to do to investigate it (jewelry stores almost always have a lot of cameras). They weren't interested in my questions. I went to the local police to report it as it was apparently associated with a local gang and I wanted the incident recorded. The policeman I spoke to looked at a map of the city and put a thumb tack over the place where my card was stolen. He then replied that no report would be written and "if they got my card back they would call me to come get it."
  4. Was '84 the last year that Cadets marched left foot forward?
  5. One of the best mello soloists in the activity - if not the best.
  6. My experience with credit card fraud is that the banks really don't do much investigating.
  7. There is a video on YouTube showing the 1980 Seattle Imperials which says that Stanley was in charge of M&M that year.
  8. I had not seen you on this forum before and saw that you had very few posts. Instead of responding directly with my opinion, I chose to just welcome you. With regard to a WGI video reference for Courtney in New Zealand - it was an actual intended question. As we were talking about WGI influence, I wanted Guardling's opinion on the matter. He has a big guard background. As for the reference to bourbon, the longer you stay on this forum the more it will make sense. Some days it just makes sense to have alcohol nearby and you will often see references to it.
  9. You sound like you would be a great band director. I was in a band once and there were a few times when the Director got challenged by a member On more than one occasion his way of dealing with it was to stand in front of everyone and say "band folded - everyone go home." We went home until we were called to come back.
  10. Hard to make out, but in the picture on the left, lower left corner - is the person holding their hands to their face in shock as if she's really killed herself?
  11. I don't hate Twitter. There are parts that I don't like but sometimes some of the follow through on posts is just so funny.
  12. Jim, the important thing right now is a woman gave birth to a spatula. It must be true because I read it somewhere. https://weeklyworldnews.com/headlines/179656/woman-gives-birth-to-spatula/
  13. Some days it's like reading the Weekly World News.
  14. I volunteer to watch videos for half that. Except wedding videos. Those I would charge $200 to watch.
  15. Guardling, has it gone through you mind as well that Courtney from New Zealand might also really enjoy watching WGI videos?
  16. I see you are new here. Welcome. I hope you enjoy your time on this forum.
  17. Then when it's determined that there is a safe, effective vaccine, how do you distribute within a nation of over 325 million people?
  18. I was out for a walk yesterday and saw a mother with two small children. All three were wearing masks. I've probably seen this type of scenario many times before but was so preoccupied with everything going on that it never really sank in. Yesterday it bothered me - a lot. I could not stop thinking about how those kids lives are affected by this - how this experience will be carried with them for the rest of their lives. Depending on age, many of us got to do so many things in our childhoods without ever imagining having to wear a mask just to go to a store. It's summer, we played outside, we went camping, swimming, sleepovers, played in the park without ever having to think about a virus. On top of how complex the world is now, the very young now have this experience which is going to be a big part of what forms them as adults. Yeah, this will affect us as well for the rest of our lives. But we had our childhoods.
  19. Kind of like the Blair Witch Project but different.
  20. I also loved Frameworks. That was a really different season. The Cavaliers were pulling off some very impressive scores before the end of June.
  21. Today was the day the 2020 Olympics were supposed to begin. Can you imagine the mess that might have resulted had they not been postponed. Talk about housing challenges.....
  22. Sadly I'd say some are still in denial.
