  1. What a spectacular year this has been!!! And I thought the activity had a VERY good chance of dying due to the pandemic. So very grateful the activity is better than ever 50 years later! Thank you SOOOOO much young people and all staff.
  2. How "much part"? Staff continuity. That's huge. And no I did not "prove your point" that's just your spin. Organizations can have money and still not win. There are plenty of examples of that inside and outside of Drum Corps. Blue Devils are just better than everyone else and they earned it on a level playing field. And everyone worked in the same "culture DCI created".....whatever that is.
  3. SCV makes us (me) understand their show, they do the show of their lives, and jump Crown by .05
  4. Money is definitely part of the equation. And what prevented any other corps from building a solid business model and organization as the Blue Devils have to bring in their funding? Absolutely nothing, so don't hate, imitate.
  5. I'm with you Tony! But could we not call it "band".....? Gives me the creeps. 🙂
  6. Don't hate. Imitate! But I understand it's MUCH easier to demean and diminish the success of others especially when you (not personally) don't have any.
  7. Well, get used to it because after tomorrow night you'll be hearing it even more. Blue Devils raise the bar to which all Drum Corps should ascribe too, but some don't see it that way due to envy and jealousy. It's a story as old as time.
  8. After performing, the guard would march to the bathroom or drinking fountain. They would stand at parade rest and when it was their turn (in pairs) they would snap to attention, fall out, and go in. When they were finished they would come out, fall back in line and snap into parade rest. We were not allowed to be seen in partial uniform. We went to shows dressed up; guys wore slacks and sport coats and girls wore dresses. Sounds archaic in 2022, but it was our thing and part of the military bearing of Drum Corps history.
  9. It's very disappointing. For the 50th...? C'mon.
  10. Good job, Dad! Not all parents support their kid's participation in the activity.
