  1. BUMP!!! Come on Bloo! You've got another great show - can't wait to see you back east!
  2. All right, all right, it's really late (or early) and I ... have no excuse! Have a nice day. Sigh.
  3. 12 pages and no one else noticed that he listed the 7 corps in alphabetical order?!?!
  4. Sorry, but the Latin for 'without' is 'sine'. 'Sans' is the French word that developed from it.
  5. 4 basses? wow. missing one? Yes, Jeff. Bass 5, Nick Curci from Ca, was admitted to Reading Hospital Sat. AM. The whole corps, staff & volunteers are praying for his recovery. His dad is flying in today. It doesn't look like he'll be able to march finals week, but we'll wait and see. BTW he has a twin in SCV. PS I've enjoyed reading your posts here (& on RAMD 3-5 years ago; I've given up on it recently).
  6. nero14 Posted Today, 01:25 AM DANG IT!!! WHAT A CRAPTASTIC NIGHT!! i'm just soaked from head to toe, and the drive was terrible... and my always late friend caused me to miss madison... so all i saw was SCV, crown, and 1/3 of the cadets before i can even see a glimpse of the corps i aged out of... and i had a $40 freakin seat I'm so sorry for you, Nero. I decided to introduce a friend to drumcorps at ... Allentown!! We too were soaked (along with the poor Glassmen) and had to wait for a long time, but at least the rain & lightning stopped and the show DID go on. My daughter (BCCG) called to say it was even worse than Allentown ... SIGH. I guess you made a charitable donation last night ...
  7. Ahem! We must have forgotton that the Tupelo (7-18) CG score was 18.10. Go BCCG!!!!
  8. I beg to differ. If Bloo's guard had received the 18.10 they got four days ago, I believe they would have been in 3rd. My daughter says they had a fantastic show, but suddenly the guard is in 8th place?!? What's up with that?
  9. Severe thunderstorm warning - possible 70 mph winds - daughter says trees are bending inhalf on the way to the show!!
  10. Madison, again. Much ado about ... Carmen!
  11. Yes! I went from very skeptical and not sure I cared for it at the beginning of the season, to loving it and looking forward to it in performance and on the CD by the end of the season. It evolved in just the right way. That said, I can understand the comment made earlier in the summer about the Bluecoats suddenly speaking Chinese. I doubt that most first-time listeners would go, "Oh, it's tabla. Cool!"
  12. Why has there been no mention of the forced cancellation of the Hershey Spectacular drum and bugle corps show in your paper? This new and unfortunate development deserves no less coverage than the lawsuit against Herco received. For Herco to suddenly increase their stadium fee by more than 110% is outrageous, and can only be seen as vindictive! They must be patting themselves on the back for being so "clever" as to make Five Star Brass be the ones to officially cancel the show. Herco doesn't seem to care that they are effectively destroying a 60-year-old tradition in Central Pennsylvania, not to mention leaving over 1,000 young performers stranded. Drum corps travel schedules are complex and must be set up months in advance. My daughter has been a member of the Bluecoats color guard for four years. They have many members and alumni from this area, including the trumpet soloist for the last two years. The Bluecoats intended to hold their annual alumni reunion barbeque in the Hershey area. This, too, was scheduled long ago and now must be changed at the last minute. I can only hope that you have been on vacation and will now address this unfortunate turn of events that affects so many people. There were people coming from Europe and from all over the United States. It was that famous a show! There is no other venue comparable in the area.
  13. [ SHAME ON YOU, HERCO!! It was with sadness and then anger that I read the announcement from Five Star Brass about the Hershey Spectacular. An increased charge in excess of 110% is unconscionable! Mr. Hershman is an honorable man; he would never pass on those costs to the drum corps public. There were four senior corps and six Division I junior corps who were scheduled to demonstrate their exceptional talents to an eager audience: that's over a thousand performers, plus staffs, families, friends and drum corps admirers both local, national, and international. You have forced a decision that will have serious repercussions for you and your "bottom line" as more and more of these disappointed people choose to avoid Hersheypark, Hershey products, and Hershey, PA!
