  1. Hear, hear! Thanks for allowing me a small part in your success. I agree with Frank wholeheartedly. While I was not able to do as much as would have liked to do with the corps because of my distance away from the island, the performance at DCA prelims was a great example of determination from the corps. Don't give up now! Build on it! Donny Allen Brass arranger 2014 Sunrisers
  2. Great review, I like mini corps as well. I am a little sorry that we beat Star by the judges last year, because they must not have liked that much the way they performed at this years show...YIKES!!! My team is the Ghost Riders we have a look and that leads us into a musical concept, I suppose. I will say that these guys and ladies maxed out what they were capable of with no doubt. I am glad you caught that. The energy in that room absolutely destroys Annapolis and the outside venue, IMHO. I was also glad to see Erie, Minne Brass and Renegades back in the mix with the new additions. Thanks for the review
  3. Tom made me cry...he is right. This is our crazy hobby. My primary functions this weekend are defending the championships of the Ghost Riders and White Sabers, but I also wrote arrangements for Sunrisers and Hamburg Kingsmen. I thought carefully about doing the alumni show with Hamburg. I hope to at least visit the Sunrisers. When I was active with St. Joes, I would also try to force this in to the weekend schedule and be so tired by the end of the weekend that I wondered why I was trying to please everyone. We have scoped out the lay of the land for the Ghost Riders. We have time to relax in between things. I am not in my 20's or 30's and I know what my limits are. Tom can tell you that there was a time that I didn't. I have grown up at least a little. I am missing UB's first game as assistant band director with the marching band with permission for this weekend. Good to have someone that has marched drum corps before as my boss. DA
  4. Welcome back Erie Thunderbirds, Minne-Brass, and Renegades! Woo-hoo, it starting to feel like the old days again!
  5. I just hope Sunrisers make it to the night show...all indications are that they will.
  6. I am absolutely thrilled to see ERIE THUNDERBIRDS and MINNE BRASS listed in this fracas! With Minne Brass going on in the middle of the pack, judges may have to do some numbers management. Now we need MASS BRASS and GOLDEN EAGLES fort a real throw down!
  7. we use to draw for prelims spots...and judges still got it close to right.
  8. Bush 90.10 Hurcs 83.75 Sun 83.5 Windsor 79.75 Class A Excelsior 71.85
  9. ,many corps will have holes this week as college moves in
  10. C2 still cannot compete with the top level in color guard, which bleeds all over every visual sheet and GE music
  11. Kilties and Cinci break 70 and Govies break 80....but besides that I like these
  12. I predict that White Sabers will win Class A at this show.
  13. I have to admit, I miss the rivalries Ghost Riders had with Mass Brass, Golden Eagles and Erie Thunderbirds. About this time of the year the trash talking would commence in good fun!
  14. Reading wins easily. I think that it could be interesting between the next 3, but I may be wrong. Next 3 all high 70's (closer to 80), Big spread another big spread. DA
  15. What if I said that I think White Sabers will be third, and possibly second? You may be right, but I would not count on big spreads, except between Bucs and the next placement. I know that Bush has cleaned a ton of stuff and worked on programming, so they could be much improved as well, Could they beat Cadets2?
  16. I am wondering where last years Class A Champion will finish in this group of OPEN corps?
  17. I only have one...Cossetti will be short. I have some other ideas but because of certain affiliations, I should probably keep them to myself. What are yours?
