  1. According to a Garfield Cadets alumnus: "In order to compliment this year's Angels in the Architecture 'concept', the Cadets will have 1/2 the corps in RED uniforms/costumes and the other 1/2 in WHITE uniforms/costumes......." I think it is a sad mistake. The corps might as well get rid of the corps name and logo and call themselves something like, "Allentown Keystone Sound".
  2. Wow....New Corps, new instruments, new unis.......that's exciting news!! Congrats and Good Luck!!!
  3. I believe that was supposed to be a safe being opened.....It was pretty cool.
  4. Interesting review. Thanks for sharing! It reminds me of the night I brought a (non drum corps) friend to a DCI show at Giant's Stadium. He laughed so much during Velvet Knight's performance and ,not surprisingly, told me VK was his favorite group. A few years ago, I brought another friend to a show who is a mariner by trade who was wowed by Cavaliers. After they were done performing he said, " That group looks like they are professionals". It was the year that Cavies did that "robot" show. 2006?
  5. Maybe this will help? Here is a link to the Drum Corps Hall of Fame Museum in Brooklyn,NY Drum Corps Museum
  6. I am reducing the price to $100 for each and the prices are firm. See Descriptions and Pics below. I can ship to anywhere in the 48 States ($30) or you can inspect/pick up at DCA Finals in Rochester or at my home in Bellerose, NY. G Baritone: DEG Dynasty USA Baritone in Key of G . Full, rich sound. 2 Valves (work great/slide perfectly). Minor dings/dents (see pics). Nice shine (chrome plated). It’s only missing the pinky ring near the valves. Plays perfectly (no leaks). Approximately 24” x 12”. Does not include case or mouthpiece. Bb Baritone: Couesnon Baritone/Euphonium Made in France (Paris). Key of Bb. Plays very well without any leaks. Valves slide/work perfectly. A couple of braces need to be soldered. The 3rd valve cap is broken….needs to be replaced or repaired. You have to hold in the 3rd valve to play it (until you replace the 3rd valve cap). Approximately 25” high x 11” wide Bari Pics
  7. I see that you listed a score for Renegades for 8/29 at Morgan Hill, Ca. What show is this? I don't see it listed on the DCA show schedule; I only see Bridgeport and Reading.
  8. Couesnon Baritone: Made in France (1964/Paris). Key of Bb. Valves work/slide perfectly. Plays very well without any leaks. A couple of braces need to be soldered. The 3rd valve cap is broken….needs to be replaced or repaired. You have to hold in the 3rd valve to play it (until you replace the 3rd valve cap). Approximately 25” high x 11” wide Asking $175 or make a reasonable offer (by email). See Pics: 1st 4 Images
  9. DEG Dynasty Baritone in Key of G. 2 Valves (work great). Minor dings/dents (see pics). Nice shine (chrome plated). It’s only missing the pinky ring near the valves. Plays perfectly.....full rich sound (no leaks). Approximately 24” x 12”. Does not include case or mouthpiece. I think the tuning slide may be aftermarket and sticks. Contact Rob: cadetrob@yahoo.com Asking $225 or make reasonable offers (by email). Link to Bari Pics
  10. Blue Devils..........The corps is a mean machine. The corps is extremely talented and I was blown away by the music program (especially the brass....they gave me chills) but they reminded me of the Blue Devil of the 80's; It seemed they slowed the drill down or parked it every time demand would be put on the brass players. And just not enough field coverage. IMO, they far exceed everyone musically but they do it at a cost of sacrificing drill. Carolina Crown.......... I like the show very much but, Crown, get your own identity. I felt like I was watching a show designed by a Cadets staff. Holy Name Cadets..........Not very innovative but an awesome, pure drum corps show where marching meets music in a dizzying display. How can you not love watching the 1984 Garfield Cadets on steroids? I'll give you some slack because it IS an anniversary year but I hope you push the creative bar next year. The Cavaliers..........The Cavaliers are the Ying to the Blue Devils', Yang. They are a marching and visual machine but sacrifice the music. Their drill is one of a kind. Santa Clara Vanguard.......... I think this might be my favorite show this year. It is perfect .......it is beautiful. Only one negative comment: It looks and sounds very familiar.
  11. I'm so ###### I just bought my tix today.....these are just the kind of seats I was looking for
  12. Hi Matt/Slicer, Thanks much but I already bought my tix. And don't worry, it wasn't from one of your thread stealers :-)
  13. Any chance you still have the Friday night tickets? If so, I would take 2. Thanks, Rob
  14. The brass and guard trophy went to the Bushwackers in 2006........that puts a nail in the OP's "Bucs dominating" theory. :-)
  15. Don't wait for the spring when everyone else will be looking for rv's.
  16. I thought your observations, not necessarily your predictions, were pretty much spot on.
  17. I'll never forget the time in horn arc that you farted 1/8 notes as we were playing. C u tomorrow.
  18. Definitely one of my all time favorite dc shows! You left the show whistling the melodies and remembering the driving drum line, the rich harmonies, the energy, and the passion. When you thought there was nothing else they could give, the corps would turn around and give another level more. I even had the honor of watching their final run-through before finals. Pure Drum and Bugle Corps.
  19. We had 84 brass that year but in the opener (opening sets) the guard joined the line to make 96 brass. Here is some more trivia: We had clarinets on the field that year. The concert arc in the closer was (if I remember correctly) a sort of protest/statement to a corps who was stuck in the past :-)
