if there was slotting this year, we'd see the same ole faces at the top. Cavies, Cadets, BD and SCV. right now Phanton and Blue are there, cadets and SCV behind them. And, given that the next pack back is tight and has room to grow, we could see someone do a run like Boston in 00. Remember them? They came out of DCi East sitting about 8th. ended up 5th. as people keep tweaking shows, or even peaking, ya never just know, and this year seems to be the most unpredictable year in DCI since I'd say probably 1992

dude no offense...but how many licks did Stodd steal from SCV when he wrote? or Thurston when he wrote for Shore? or Hannum when he wrote for Sun? not only that, but how many times did these guys jones their own licks? ####, I love Dan Delong, but he's still using some licks 15 years later!! arrangers get into patterns and love to recycle stuff no matter who they write for. Listen to brigs when Glyde wrote. the year I helped at Empire, vets up there jokes about how they played this lick that year, this lick that year etc. all arrangers recycle. just because they recycle doesn't mean they are stealing DCI stuff. most times they're stealing THEIR OWN stuff.

seems like this is the year Blue has the tools to screw up the annual pecking order at DCI. I think, from the looks of it, they'll get the numbers if they deserve it

i will agree. the one advantage DCI has is they have regionals where everyone shows up so they can get a look at each show and make notes prior to finals week. DCA, being as spread out as it is doesn't have this luxury
