  1. Hoping our view from section 316 is dry, and with good sightlines & sound........
  2. Thank you, now have some perspective on one side of the question!
  3. I know little to zip about WGI guard judging, so I ask to learn: Is there a distinction between how punitive drops are in WGI vs DCI? I certainly know neither is tic system, but agree that mistakes should count.
  4. That's what I said in the Madison thread!! Great minds think alike....... "It will be interesting to watch the next three days of Colts vs Scouts, 3 shows. Yes, tonight's spot as well as site might help. Come 7/7 they perform back to back in MN. That result imo will seal/solidify their tier for the year."
  5. I think we can put quotes around "upset" for at least one of the corps matchups.................
  6. Possibly, but my guess is that the "home town" enthusiasm for the WI corps will be palpable, so much that combined with "number management" by adjudication, the space leans to the Scouts, rightly or not.. I don't think the comparing you list necessarily is in total play, as Regiment is clearly a tier above all. Fun to consider what we both are suggesting though!!

  8. As we say in the trail running race community: it all depends on who shows up! Well, barring any dire situation i.e. Cavies illness that one year etc. there won't be a corps no-show, although some have suggested Madison employ a break to rework this year's show. Loss of revenue seems to prohibit this consideration.
  9. Colts to Madison spread has my attention. Show order & site probably will influence results, though.
  10. I'd just like to say: for only 9/10 posts as a member here-YOU have earned my respect for quality/thoroughness of thought. Thought you deserve more than a "thumbs up". Carry on.
  11. Gonna guess that no one submits a vote for an electronic instrument, or voice.
  12. Can't exactly recall the year, but I think I remember DCP having a pinned post with images for all the corps. That would help me this year, as I'm trying to decide who's close to Blue Stars in my balloting. I have also not researched as much those who have just started their season.
  13. I agree as well. But geography also plays a part in this. Some HS in my area, Seniors are done by May 10-15, the same week as nearby colleges. Some of my teacher friends in NJ just finished his week.
  14. spoiler: GH appearance visually, not audibly
  15. So, you'd drop 'em in content. But, achievement.....?
  16. Any idea [at least this year] how many shows are NOT all DCI? I would guess few, but a bit lazy to check the tour schedule. It will certainly be appreciated next year!!
  17. Well, not that difficult to solve.......BOA seems to know how to do it for retreat...... http://www.timesnews.net/mediaFiles?type=image&url=/image/2016/11/13/D-B-2016-Indy-finals-awards-IMG-9412-JPG.JPG&caption=Dobyns-Bennett High School and 12 other Grand Nationals Bands of American finalists at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis Saturday night. D-B finished 13th nationwide in its first finals there. DCI seems to allot 10 yards per retreat Corps, seems pretty simple to change that, as BOA has in the exact same facility.
