It is apparent and obvious to me that you have absolutely no clue. You keep your head in the sand, and think everyone was out to screw you that night. We'll stand here and laugh at you.

Hi. Um, it was a friggin tropical storm. An unusual occurrance in the Rochester area. I would think that any company is going to protect their assets in a situation such as that. Meaning = if the cameras will be damaged, or the electronics pose a health hazard, then take them down. It only makes sense. I'm sorry YOU feel slighted. However, your demands are unreasonable, considering the situation that occurred THAT day. Also, when a venue tells you that permanent markings are unacceptable on their field, you follow their rules. Which means that water soluable paint was necessary. What would you have done? Ruined their field because it was raining? If that was the case, you can believe that Finals wouldn't have happened the next day, for sure, or, that DCA wouldn't have that venue available for this year Get over it. A lot of things went wrong that day, due to a freak of weather. #####ing about it now doesn't change that fact. Period. Nobody did anything wrong that day. They did the best they could under conditions that were certainly less than ideal.

Where have all the bugles gone?
MikeM replied to CourtOfHonorMember's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
From your lips to God's ears Tom. I don't care if it's G, Bb, or Q#, I want to be entertained, I want to understand, and I want to have fun. Loud, while nice, isn't the only criteria. -

I'd love to get my hands on a Kanstul Powerbore sop.

Man, these are the times I wished I had listened to a couple of friends when they told me to join the Bergen County Firefighters Bagpipe Band. I did Drum Corps instead! :P Except I don't have the legs for a kilt! Why do bagpipers walk when they play? To get away from the sound. Seriously, I hope you find one Laura.

I could be wrong, but I believe that the board can be configured in such a way that if you use a banned word, it won't allow the post at all. Might be time.
-
At this point John, the built in ambiguity isn't getting it done. Either specifically spell out what is and is not a violation, or scrap the policy.
-
I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for that one. I'm still waiting on a response for the report for a personal attack that the community administrator made on me. Typical of the big-wigs around here.

Goodbye Lackawanna County Stadium

My first DCA's were in Syracuse. However, we won in 2003 in Scranton, so it is special. Wish Jeff could have gotten me a piece of that turf tho. -
I find DCP runs much better on Firefox than IE.

This is where consistency in enforcing the guidelines comes into play. Letting the filters catch words and no action being taken was always the case. Yes, people who launched into tirades of obscenities were spoken to, but I can, for all the time I was an FSTM, count on 1 hand the people who received more than a "hey, tone it down." So here comes the admin, saying that this will change, or heads are gonna roll. How do you think people are going to react??? The policy as it was before today was working just fine. Why mess with something when it wasn't broke???
-
Then have him contact me. We need to have a long talk.
-
Precident was set LONG before the current bossman ever set foot here. If the filters were allowed to do their job, then the user was left alone. Sure, in the past users were spoken to asking them to tone it down a bit, but, it was always allowed that if the filters did their job, no action was taken. Circumvent the filters, that was another story. Suspending someone because the filters filtered their posts is just stupid. But it's not the first stupid thing done around here lately.

Personal attacks by the Community Administrator in a public forum Who suspends Rich?
-
Poodle, you won't convince me otherwise, so don't try.
-
You all realize that by posting here we're all now marked for extra attention by the Community Administrator, right?
-
This particular crackdown is just lame x infinity. I wonder what's next...if you're anti electronics you get a 3 day vacation?
-
Consistency is a joke around here. You say you're enforcing the guidelines by this (stupid) enforcement of cursing, which is all ready filtered out. Yet, real violations, personal attacks, et. al, go unpunished, except for those for whom you have a personal agenda against. Pretty sad, if you ask me. You tie the hands of the FST's, telling them they can ONLY do what they tell you, instead of allowing them to be people, to use their best judgment when it comes to a violation. Your job as Community Administrator, IMO, sucks. But you're the boss. So, why don't you enforce the rules evenly, instead of either picking on those you don't like or going after the petty little stuff, like you usually do? Oh, this self-policing of CE? That's a joke. Have a nice day.

To me, the choice that was made is obvious. And the correct one. -
So can we get an honest answer

And you know what, it's my money, thankyouverymuch, and I'll spend it as I see fit. The way I see fit is to not support corps who choose to use electronics. Therefore, in order for me to be an informed consumer, I'd like to know the actual breakdown of the vote. It's not an unreasonable request, as this information has been released in the past. Is it that hard to understand? That if I'm unhappy with the direction of a coprs or organization that I can try and influence it where it matters most: In the wallet?
