  1. Been watching here and there between errands. Caught Racine thru Citations then back for Raiders, Impulse and Revo. Great effort by the kids... was pretty windy earlier. Impulse guard with fast, upper level skills (Lots of weapon 5's and 6's!). Loved Citations guard as well (Go John!!) taught by a Cadet age-out. Vision Elite givin' it up with an Earth, Wind, and Fire show... some real youngins in that crew! Horns half as tall as some of those kids. Great job! Not easy marching a 40 member drum corps so you gotta give these kids credit. I'll probably stop by semi-finals and check them out now.
  2. Boring? Didn't even make the list of adjectives I'd use to describe Cavaliers. Not even close...
  3. Previous post in reply to this particular example. K??
  4. Sounds like a classy organization all around. Congratulations on your return to Division I. I wish you the best in Madison and look forward to being entertained by the STARS for many years to come. One of my favorite shows of the year! Great season!! ^OO^
  5. Birmingham guard score Cadets Content 7.7 Excellence 7.3 4 tenths lower in achievement tells me they were pretty dirty... no bias there. Besides, Marie Czapinski could judge the pants off a squirrel, she's been doing it forever and greatly influenced the design of the build-up system. I've NEVER seen bias from her in 20+ years of judging.
  6. Regardless, my thoughts are with her and her family.
  7. I couldn't get past the misspelling of the word corpS... NOT corp.

  9. Question? I read that these are under the overhang. Is the view obstructed at all? Is it really hot under the overhang? Anything you can tell me about your experience there would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  10. Anyone heard anything? Rumors from Ricky? Please, please, please...
  11. Section E Row 59 Seat 28 Looks like I'm real close to the fifty! I am SOOO excited. Had a great time in Atlanta-- seat was in the high upper deck so had a great view of the drill. Now, I'm ready to get my face PEELED in Madison. YEAH!
  12. "Girl, this suit is HOT!" "I feel ya, sister!" "The sacrifices we make to get into GayDays for free!" "WHEW!"
  13. Sound definitely was a different experience between the 3 decks, less musical clarity in the upper deck but GREAT for reading forms. And yeah, the chatter and rattle from the concession area in the lower deck was very distracting but the face peel down there was pretty intense from alot of corps. I believe it was Dan Potter who announce that over 13,000 fans were in attendance here and yes, the crowd was particularly well behaved, informed, and responsive to the efforts of the kids. Club level was the best in terms of visual and musical balance. Next year, buy tickets early if you want to be blasted by the drum corps wall of sound.
  14. I'll have to join that club after seeing them last night (chicken skin just thinking about it). I did ALOT of cheering for the MAGNIFICENT performances last night but only 2 made me tear up: Cavies during their ballad. Such beautifully balanced and warm tones from that hornline. And, Phantom Regiment. I bought the early Regiment APD and was very familiar with the show. However, I was not prepared for what I was to experience. The emotion wrought from them took my breath away (literally). The sustained notes at the end of the ballad seemed to go on FOREVER and you simply bask in the dark beauty of it. Phantom sucks you into their performance, you feel the journey, they wrap you in visual and musical splendor, and toss you out completely drained yet elated. Truly one of the most special moments I've ever experienced in all of drum corps. Thank you Phantom Regiment!
  15. Leaving in two hours to meet up with the HeatWave posse for the drive from Orlando. I CAN"T WAIT!!!
  16. "Curse you amp-god!" I believe that's the amp-demon MOOGodor! ^0^ ^0^
  17. I'm w/ you on these, although not sure it'll be as high as 94, it'll be a similar spread. Any word on show go?
  18. Thanks to a fellow DCP'er, I'm all set. Thanks to him. Please close this thread. TY
