  1. This is a sad day. Mr. Gowdy will be missed. I always enjoyed him calling games, when I was a child. They said his most memorable moment ,while calling a game, was when Ted Williams went up for his very last at bat. You can hear the passion for sports in his voice when Williams knocked it out of the park. He was fighting back the tears.....
  2. Chris Quinn- Star of Indiana mellophone soloist was pretty darn good too!!
  3. Uhhhh.......He he he.......... That's what she said! b**bs b**bs
  4. Rich Viano, Jeff Queen, "No Tick" Nick Angelus
  5. Uhhh.... It's Drum Corps dude..... EVERYBODY gets dark and tan by the time finals rolls around!
  6. Yes, it was Barry Hudson that played the "Summertime" solo, beautifully I might add, along with a solo in "Bess You Is My Woman Now". He isn't the caption head for Crown though, he was on brass staff with them in '04 and '05. Matt Harloff is the current Caption Head for Crown and has been since '03. Barry has an incredible lung capacity, he held that note in '88 until it looked like his head was going to explode!!! He was purple in the face at the end of that note! He and Becky are no longer married. They are both wonderful people and did so much for Star! Becky went on to become a principal in Indiana. She also went to Indonesia to help with Tsunami relief! Barry is a band director in Mass. He's probably destroying someone in a Hockey ring about now!
  7. My DVD and VHS are of Finals with the mess up. My CD is of Semis, Clean and Solid. That dude was very sure footed all summer on the solo. Absolute PIG, he was!!! It's really a shame that more people are aware of that screw up than they are of how solid a soloist he really was. Star went to Cali that summer and we were up against BD several times. He was nails every show I witnessed, except finals. :(
  8. Memphis Sound and Jersey Surf had to share a housing facility in '04 (Salina Kansas) right before finals week. The kids and staff all had a good time visiting and sharing suppers. Very Cool time!
  9. DCI Hall of Famer, Donnie VanDoren was in that line!
  10. Uhh... I agree, Todd Ryan was and is a phenominal teacher/ "Foot Doctor". However, he didn't write the drill in '89. Steve Brubaker wrote the drill for Star in '89.
  11. In 2004 Jersey Surf (Div 2) was still using G bugles! And they sounded great!
  12. That's cool man. I've just seen too much negativity aimed at the corps that I love. Sometimes it's hard to tell if someone's kidding on the computer. Especially if you don't know the person. I guess I should have aimed it at the person before you, that was beating around the bush. Sorry about that dude, it was a kneejerk reaction and I couldn't let it slide one more time.
  13. And out from the woodworks come the "PEOPLE" again! This type of disrespect makes me sick!!!! SHAME ON YOU! TACTLESS, TASTELESS IGNORANCE!!!!!! You have a very nice corps........... <**> <**> <**>
  14. I would love to see Jim Prime arrange this work for a corps!
  15. No doubt! Dude, can I come over too? I have '74-'04 on DVD!! :)
  16. I have a Pink Star shirt from '04, it's basically a remake of the '85 member shirts. This is my favorite corps shirt!! I also have a black and a white version of the same shirt. I wore the PINK to the Rockford show of shows in '04 and Cesario almost got whiplash from the doubletake that he did when he noticed.
  17. It seems to me that WGI has a little influence on drum corps these days. Just my thought.
  18. 1991 Phantom Guard....... Ha Cha Cha!!! That would be very distracting. I've wondered how many of those guard girls and Baritone players wound up becoming seat partners that year?
  19. STAR '93! MEDEA, YOU CRAZY ### MURDEROUS BIOTCH!!
  20. That's Josh Talbott's favorite Star uni too! I've always liked the Belleville Black Knights uni. Very extravagant look.
