  1. didn't have to turn it up very loud at all...at least my roommate wasn't complaing about it being loud...and i could hear it! :)
  2. If I had to make a top 6 CD from 2005 it would be: Carolina Crown Bluecoats The Cadets Capital Regiment Santa Clara Vanguard Phantom Regiment
  3. I'm just curious(and i know I haven't been involved as much a lot of you other folks around here!), and can't remember when the rule about the caption changes at finals was instituted. I'm just curious how finals would have panned out this year had this rule not been used(i mainly bring this up because I was at finals and was unable to send in any caption changes each night). Cuz I personally enjoyed watching how your corps progress through finals without changing the captions and to see how well you predicted things. With the changes it made it a little bit easier to pinpoint where changes should be made based on what the scores would be for corps on each night. any thoughts?
  4. i think the part of this that they were trying to catch the newbies out there, yes all of us want to see the marching that already know about it, but the whole point of going national for 88 million households was to teach what this is. and I think it was a great mix(i personally wanted to see more video) but oh well!
  5. Corps and whether they had the real ending on the broadcast(not sure on these first 3) Spirit NO Glassmen NO Blue Knights NO SCV YES Boston NO Crown NO Madison NO Coats NO BD YES Phantom Yes Cavies NO Cadets Yes
  6. I'm in. The finals performance completely blew me away from the quarters performance that I saw...completely different corps to me and I loved the show! :) This show is the what makes drum corps awesome...it shows that you don't have to win(or get a certain place) to have a good show!
  7. if you have the DVD's the finals recaps would be on there!...that's a start i guess...
  8. Def worth the money! :) Tho my DVD has been with a friend since march, in oklahoma...i have yet to get it back... Also the little snippet with steve rondinaro is very informative as well, esp for someone who doesn't know much about star.... But like someone said earlier...STAR 1990! STAR 1990! STAR 1990! STAR 1990! STAR 1990! STAR 1990! STAR 1990! STAR 1990! STAR 1990!
  9. I voted for Charlotte...don't know why really, tho i've heard great things about the stadium and the city. Honorable Mention would prolly have to go to pittsburgh or cinci since those are close to home! :)
  10. To me one that really sticks out is 2003 Spirit(mainly because I marched this year and it seemed as tho they were outta the finals picture all season, missing the evening shows at both San Antonio and Indianapolis)! They REALLY surged and at the right moment. 14th in quarters and 12th in semis. Spirit was the only corps outside the top eight whose score rose from quarters to semis. Everyone else 9th-17th dropped, thus giving them the nod for finals that year... also another noteable in 2003 was the cadets, tho not changing in placement they gave cavies a run for their money for 2nd place, nearly knocking them outta second place on finals night. Cadets quarters score - 95.45 Cavies quarters score - 96.95 Cadets semis score - 96.55 Cavies semis score - 97.25 Cadets Finals score - 97.1 Cavies Finals score - 97.25(no change from semis) what it all came down to was cavies having more effect in their show than Cadets. The Cadets performed the heck outta their show on finals night and in my eyes shoulda beaten the Cavies, thus the closeness of the two corps on finals nights! :)
  11. From what i am told no there were no full corps retreats during the season, which really is sad to see this tradition being lost. Even a newbie like me can feel the importance of retreats, and i feel they should bring them back. A lil snoopup that i heard from my friend who marched the bluecoats the past two seasons, about retreat, was that since there had been no retreats before that season apparently their horn sargaent was running around their block telling everyone not to play the first 8 bars of america o canada, because the rookies wouldn't know since it was their first retreat that only the winning corps starts out the piece. :)
  12. Ohio Stadium - Columbus, Ohio(tho this will never happen :)) another great venue in columbus would be Crew Stadium, the only downside here is that the seating capacity would be really low for a finals size crowd, but this venue is an incredible drum corps stadium that hosts Capital Regiment's home show every year.
  13. In the words of Homer Simpson..."MMMmmm, Beer" preferred...Miller Genuine Draft , had it for the first time this past weekend at nats...pretty good stuff! :)
  14. I work until 10 EST, So hopefully I can make it to the chat, so please take your time coming home from work! :P Good luck to all corps and congrats on making it to finals! :)
  15. Like I had posted a few days back, If we are going to be at nats, how can we get our changes in from night to night? Could we phone them in or if we know what we would like them to change to each night could we go ahead and give those to you steve?
  16. what are we doing about scores say if we are going to be at nats? Is there any way that we could phone our changes in?
  17. Iowa = Guernsey Cadets 2nd home They finished 3rd, 2nd and 1st in their 3 show tour of Iowa! And Finishing 2nd behind Potomac River Knights just across the border in Omaha, Nebraska.
  18. The Idea is good, but I don't think it's up there with the glassmen or colts(tho i haven't seen colts) in terms of performance I really enjoy the show. Quite well improved since their first time i saw them at toledo(second time i saw them was at dublin)
  19. how about fron tseat?! first ones on first ones off...don't have to worry about bus wars...LEG ROOM!
