Wow! There is a lot to like in this show. Can't wait to see what happens with it over the summer.

I was kind of hoping they would be used to wipe out the yard lines during the ballad, but this is nice.

2015 Uniforms (All Threads Now Merged HERE)
RobRoy replied to Cainan's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
It's like getting into a cold pool. They would be better off just jumping in than going in step by step and annoying everyone each step of the way. -
I've been grilling chicken (and all that entails) the past couple of hours so don't hold me to these in the morning. But on first thought: 70's = 76 Blue Devils 80's = 85 Cadets (Though 89 Cadets is my favorite) 90's = 91 Star Watched that one on TV with a bunch of Cadets, Suncoasters, and various others and we were all amazed. Beautiful show! And about half a dozen from 92 would make a short list of my favorites. 2000's = Pick you favorite from the Cav's. They weren't my cup of tea (loved their shows from the 80's and 90's) but they were so darn good. I should also check the years for some of Crown's stuff mid to late 00's. Wow! I was supposed to split up the 2000's I guess, but meh. I'd end up choosing Cadets 2001 and one of those great Crown shows and shafting the Cavs all together, and they were too fantastic for that. 2010's = I'll be a homer and go with Cadets 2014. Not well designed to the sheets, or those that love still love sitting down low, but I thought that was the Cadets doing Americana like only they can do. Performed lights out. Blue Coats could easily reach that last year, and any show by BD. Loved SCV's Les Mis too.

2015 Uniforms (All Threads Now Merged HERE)

I like the uniform on the right better than the FJM scaled down Cadet look they wore for a while. -
I'm guessing the idea of the fade is gold to maroon, rather than yellow to purple? But that doesn't line up with the Neon as 10 thing. But hey, I never understood that poster on the wall in science classes. Either way, they are pretty sweet looking drums.

I believe during the 80's they wore a Garfied Cadets patch, not Holy Name.

I said that a couple days ago. Great voice, former MM (so not some ringer) and a great guy.
-
I too like the narrator in the uniform proper, and love when he comes out with the shako and salutes. Think he could work the shako rather than the "book" more often.
-
I like Jordan being in uniform rather than costume.

Comparisons have been made to 87 with the down ending. Bus problems hold true, and coming from behind. Props never factored into 87 though. Or the TOC.

Yes, this is bus company #2 for the season. Just made the change recently. This is at least the second issue with this company in a short period of time.

1980 27th Lancers is DCI.org Download of the Week

They say you never forget your first true love. 80 Lancers was it for me. -
Very nice video! My favorite line was the "Again, Again, Again mantra of our rehearsal technique".

Fustration and anger in Allentown

I thought this thread was going to be about waiting so long for the parade to get started. -

I thought they said "They were born ready!" But either way I like the nostalgic touch.

Just curious. When Crown beat the Cadets they were suddenly named a top 3 or possible world champion corps. But since the Cadets regained the position I see few people listing them as possible or probable contenders for a championship. One's my alma mater and the other is my home state corps so I love to see them both do well. Just curious about the DCPers perspective.

Favorite Carolina Crown Shows

I voted for La Fiesta but remember looking for storm clouds during Stormworks when I followed the corps that year. Great show. Great Corps. -
Crown -vs- Cadets
RobRoy replied to Tone Quality Matters's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I'm just suprised by the size of the score swings. I was in Orlando and thought Crown might win, but suprised it was by half a point. And now such a big swing in the other direction. Different judges or the result of the full judging panel getting settled in? Or is it a new Cadets ending (and what is it?)
