Completely agree,...............so do all other ensembles and individuals who are not performing exact arrangements from publishers who already hold these rights,.......

rights to arrange and perform have been a requirement to compete for about 8 years or so,..............you need to provide proof with your application to compete,...........

DCA's comments in this regard was a red herring,............nothing different at all from the corps perspective from recent prior years,...............IMO, it was the method used to let the corps know the event would not be recorded or produced in DVD form,...........which I have no problem with as they simply did not sell enough of the products to justify the production costs. My issue is that while still requiring the minis to obtain certain rights, why not the other ensembles? with no recordings, what is the difference?

the corps never paid for these rights,...............we still paid for rights to arrange and perform this year,.............no change in costs or savings for mini corps

not correct, rights cost the mini corps the same amounts this year as they did since DCA required them, as the mechanical and sync right are obtained by the recording company, not the corps,.................

Registration deadline was this past Saturday..........looking forward to seeing the entire I&E line up and schedule,..............there are usually large crowds, but being on a Saturday this year, between prelims and finals, attendance could even be larger!
