  3. I live in the area...anyone know where Bluecoats, Cadets or Boston are staying/rehearsing? THANKS in advance
  4. I have to say between the video broadcast being a bust(people are demanding refunds) and the lack of info on DCP. and the DCA site...this may be one of the worst DCAs ever communication-wise......Rochester is my hometown...ive marched more than a few DCAs .......it sure seems like theyve dropped the ball this year
  5. Star..always clean but extremely boring...... Where are the rest of the scores...I have to say between the video broadcast being a bust(people are demanding refunds) and the lack of info on DCP. and the DCA site...this may be one of the worst DCAs ever communication-wise

  8. Many corps dont want to expend energy walking 4mi and would rather practice than do a parade... When I was in St Josephs we often did several parades on major weekends...was pretty common and we got paid by whatever fire dept wanted us and prise money if we won the performance part of it I just read from a friend on Facebook that the Reilly Raiders bus just left for Rochester...some people have to work. I have talked to many a corps member about the DCA parade and so far no one has mentioned getting paid.
  9. Appreciate the "play by play" Kevin...."watching" from Costa Rica...and a shout out to Diceman...glad to see UR all set up in S Fla Ron...
  10. St Joes(and did) Garfield Cadets Anaheim Kingsmen Hawthorne Cabs>some of us in St Joes(Joe Pero Sr for sure) were aging out in 1971 and discussed car pooling
  11. Tom...your memory never ceases to amaze me! Indeed I never played with the Brigs but i did play one summer in that area with the Magnificent Yankees. I wasnt aware of people not being asked back to Cru and that is distressing, but I left in 1973 for London so i wouldnt have known if i was invited or not LOL.I am now retired and split my time netween Florida and Costa Rica....and taking trips...last one was London Olympics. Amazing memory my friend!
  12. I knew it was back to back shows...Bob Dunham and a few of us didnt remember whether it was sequential weekends of days on Facebook,,,Tks Tom.
  13. I live near Tavares Middle School....yay...thank you all for your responses
  14. We dont get that many shows here in Florida these days. I would love to watch a rehearsal or two. Does anyone know where the Cadets, Cavs or Crown are staying/practicing in Orlando? Thanks in advance!
  15. Interesting thread. I have to chuckle(in a nice way)..Ive never heard of this corps(Skylarks)..but in 1964 they enlarged to 24 horns and 7 drums. Times have sure changed...for decade after decade.
  16. I sent you an email>>>My message may have been laden with memories of 1972, but I have absolutely NO ill will toward the current(or past)SKY...if I hurt anyones feelings..my apologies.
  17. You have a great memory Tom. Spot on. I remember lining up to go on several times with 6-8 Skyfolks namecalling as we went on. If I recall correctly someone was even spat upon. Myself and 20 or so ST Joes guys had just joined that year and it wasnt something anyone EVER did to St Joes. (I marched CU 72/73 only)I grew up IDOLIZING SKY and was..as a 21 year old kid, quite upset when the above activities occurred..while my memories are valid, I have absolutely NO desire to even vaguely hurt the current corps in any way. In fact..I had been away from DC for many years and was quite sad to see SKY as a smallcorps a few years ago. I thought SKY would live forever.(and note I mentioned the word "bravado" in my original post. Apologies if I ruffled feathers, I am VERY surprised it made this much of a "stir". SKY has broader shoulders than to worry about anything I have to say historically...and I wish SKY well.
  18. CRU not competing in 2101 is sad news to me. SKY with all their past bravado/bullyrudeness....makes me feel vindicated that in 2010 they are all but defunct(sorry but its how I feel)
  19. when U go to DCA Roch and bring your motorhome or trailor..where do U park?
  20. Sorry to hear it. Nows the time to move to Florida like U said U might(you have my address Mike
