  1. OMG that was fast!! we just inked the deal last month, and BAM!! Donnie, thanks for the well-wishing! of course this means you won't be able to bring folks by our arc anymore to hear the G's!! Of course, you should still come by to say hello!! I guess I better get busy converting the G book into Bb!!
  2. I think it was 14 bari/euph's, and I'm pretty sure it was less than 28 guard.
  3. wow, nice call. That takes me back a few years. Charioteers had some pretty fine corps back in the day.
  4. Yea, 'tis true. Sounds like you're STILL p.o.'d. That must have been at the major restructuring that's going on at the downtown, 75/85 connector. It's going to be great when they open that new section, but it's gonna suck for a pretty good while. 30 minutes is actually getting off pretty easy. BTW, Vic, are you sure you mant to move to ATL? The trick is finding a place near your work, so rush hour isn't a huge deal and you aren't fighting it every single day. also, Southside rush has really picked up in the last few years, but still is NOTHING compared to the northside. Atlanta has the worst traffic in the history of the world, but I still loved living there.
  5. true, most weekends aren't as bad as rush hour during the week, but lots of times it can be. When they do construction projects, (which seems to be perpetual) on, or inside the perimeter, they often utilize nights/weekends because of the volume of week day traffic . This involves closing an interstate down to a single lane while they repave, or work bridge construction. Over the years, I have often been stuck in bumper to bumper, creepy crawly stuff at 2:00 am on a Sunday. I remember how odd I thought it was the first time I noticed WSB had started continuing their traffic reports 24/7. Not long after that, I found out why the hard way. I missed the best bachelor party ever, sitting 2 1/2 hours on 285 N near Decatur, on a Friday night starting about midnight.
  6. You sure you don't want the 3/16 -7/8 alternating meter I've got planned for next year's show: "Common Time. . .It's So Common"? back to the drawing board i guess.
  7. hey Z, its fun watching you hustle out there with the kids! keep it up!
  8. If MCL and Alliance are within striking distance at -4.263 and -4.463 respectively behind CV . . . then might I suggest that CV is within striking distance of the Hurricanes at -2.875? None of you believe that is possible, frankly nor do I, which illustrates the point that the higher the scores go, and the more corps are crammed to a small range, the harder it is to make up ground. CV welcomes healthy competition from our southern brethren, as it will make for a strong southern region, and will help all of our corps strive for higher levels of achievement at the national level. Having said that, I'm pretty sure my friends at Alliance and MCL understand that we at CV are focused on retaining our finalist position, and pushing to catch the corps right in front of us. Best of luck to all the DCAS corps in Rochester! May all 3 corps have their best placement ever!
  9. Ed Thank you for the kind words about CV's show. It is nice to know that people "get it" since it is such a departure from years past. We knew going in that we were taking some risks, but made a conscious decision to take a more serious approach to our programming, and its starting to pay off. Scott, I thought you guys had a really good run. congrats on a great DCA debut! Roman, if you're reading this thread, last night was my first real read on MCL. Man, you guys can blow! congrats on a big bounce in your number.
  10. keep in mind though, that all depends on Atlanta's world famous traffic. a trip to Douglasville wouldn't include that, while a trip to Alpharetta would. Either way, get her to march! I'm sure our friends at Alliance would love to have her, as would we.
  11. oh, I'm at camp, my friend. I'm on my office computer. its about time to top of the air mattress and lights out. I need to write a little more drill first. dh
  12. Both Vis and Music GE judges expect there to be a level of coordination between the two. Seperate sheets allows for closer scrutiny of these captions, and hopefully higher quality feedback, by having a specialist from each caption.
  13. ah, man. . . there goes breakfast! I got to see them at Milton, but the show wasn't finished and I was way out near the end zone. I didn't get to see them tonight, but I heard them from just outside the gate and they sounded pretty good from there.
  14. yea maybe that's it. one would thinkt the 35 rule would apply at DCA shows. Think maybe they are just choosing exhibition? Besides, I could swear they have 35. . . in the percussion section!! j/k, but it is a big drum line.
  15. what about Alliance? They were at J'ville, too. any number for them?
