  3. Hey all OC has been looking for Class A CDL drivers and cook staff to join the summer, and have been reaching out all over to share this opportunity. I'd thought I'd share here in case someone here fits the roles or knows someone who does. http://oregoncrusaders.org/job-postings Sorry if this should have been done differently, I wasn't 100% sure how to share this.

  5. After seeing the Blue Stars and Crossmen compete neck and neck with eachother all season this year, I began to wonder which corps might be in that same situation next season where they are right next to each other in terms of scoring and placement. My tight grouping predictions for next season are the following: Blue Devils v.s. Santa Clara Vanguard Santa Clara Vanguard v.s. Carolina Crown Bluecoats v.s. Cavailers Cadets v.s. Blue Knights Phantom Regiment v.s. Blue Knights Blue Stars v.s. Crossmen Madison Scouts v.s. Mandarins Troopers v.s. Colts Blue Devils B v.s. Vanguard Cadets Gold v.s. Golden Empire Seattle Cascades v.s. Jersey Surf Jersey Surf v.s. Pioneer Music City v.s. Genesis Battalion v.s. Columbians Impulse v.s. Shadow Shadow v.s. River City Rhythm Les Stentors v.s. Impulse Pacific Crest v.s. Oregon Crusaders Colts v.s. Academy Oregon Crusaders v.s. Spirit of Atlanta Again, these are just my predictions. What are your predictions? Do any of your predictions match any of mine? Do you agree or disagree with my predictions? Please comment in this thread and we will find out!
  6. We are staying on the West Coast this week but going north of California and celebrating one of the newer corps to world class competition the Oregon Crusaders. 7. Time zone = Mountain 4 p.m. Box Office Opens 7:30 p.m. Welcome & National Anthem 7:40 p.m. Seattle Cascades 7:57 p.m. Oregon Crusaders 8:14 p.m. Mandarins 8:31 p.m. Bluecoats 8:48 p.m. Troopers Bloo brings "Jagged Edge" out west on a pilgrimage to one of DCI's founding sites. They brought "Kinetic Noise" to Casper in 2015. You won't find a more perfect venue to encounter Bloo, or any drum corps, than Natrona County HS stadium. There is no running track encircling the performance field. The Western sky is high, bright and clear; the evening air is light and cool. The performances are up-close and in your face, the way drum corps should be. Last year, fans got an eye/earful of Cavaliers on this same field. In 2013, Crown brought their championship show to NCHS. No one, anywhere, got a better seat to encounter the brass of E=mc2 than they did in Casper. Bloo has a good shot to win this one ; the interesting matchup will be between Troop and Mandarins, their first direct contact of the season. The next night, July 15 in Denver, it's three of the Blues -- Coats, Devils and Knights -- on the same field for the first time this year. Should be a great weekend of drum corps. Worth the trip to Casper.
  8. Ten corps tonight, on the following schedule (MDT): 7:30 p.m. Thunder 7:47 p.m. Battalion 8:04 p.m. Columbians 8:21 p.m. Golden Empire 8:38 p.m. Gold 8:55 p.m. intermission 9:15 p.m. Cascades 9:32 p.m. Oregon Crusaders 9:49 p.m. Santa Clara Vanguard 10:06 p.m. Blue Devils 10:23 p.m. Blue Knights NWS says weather will be mostly clear, with temperatures dropping from about 88F to 78F over the course of the show. If you're there, please let us know about it!
  9. The Oregon Crusaders is pleased to present its 2015 program “The Midnight Garden”, with musical selections including Prokofiev’s "Cinderella Suite", Doss’s "Cantus" and Adams’ "Wild Nights". Join us when the clock strikes twelve and this mystical garden comes to life! We're also excited to debut our new website at oregoncrusaders.org The new modern-responsive design enables all forms to have a great view into the artistry and performance of one of the up-and-coming DCI World Class Corps. Learn more about the Oregon Crusaders organization today at oregoncrusaders.org.
  10. A couple of tight showdowns coming to DCI Arkansas (Little Rock). 1/10th separated Crossmen and Blue Stars and 5/100th separated OC and Mandarins in the previous evening at Broken Arrow, OK. Order of performance follows. 7:00 pm Mandarins 7:17 pm Jersey Surf 7:34 pm Pacific Crest 7:51 pm Oregon Crusaders 8:08 pm Colts 8:42 pm Crossmen 8:59 pm Blue Stars 9:16 pm Blue Knights 9:33 pm Santa Clara Vanguard
  11. Surprised not to see a thread started yet for tonight's only show. Per DCI, the lineup is: Open Class Thunder Impulse Eruption Columbians World Class Cascades Oregon Crusaders Blue Knights Gates open at 6:00 p.m., and the show starts at 7:00 p.m. Blue Knights' Facebook page indicates their performance time is 9:01 p.m. The forecast is hot: temperatures in the upper 90s at show start. More details welcome!
  12. Lots of agreement early on that this range would be an exciting one to watch as we go into finals. These placement seem to have become consistent since just before San Antonio. So, current placement a lock? percent chance of moving up? percent chance of moving down? Of course if someone moves up, someone has to move down or tie (God forbid). My thoughts: Crossmen: 12th place A LOCK show and performance places them there solidly Troopers: 13th place A LOCK not enough in the show construction to get them higher, too good to move down Colts: 14th place A LOCK this could have been 12th with more talent and cleaner music book sooner voice over not quite right, don't think they are willing to budge much there Spirit: 15th place 40% LOCK 60% Chance to move down show is poorly designed, but they have more talent than some below them and have the finalist experience The Academy: 16th place 50% LOCK 50% Chance to move up better show than SOA all around, some sections as talented, really need to clean OC: 17th place 50% LOCK 50% Chance to move up better show than Academy or SOA, lots to clean yet Pacific Crest: 50% LOCK 50% Chance to move up tidiest show in 15-18 range, gotta turn up the communication and lower individual mistakes
  13. Where the address is not unknown. It's 500 E. Franklin Ave. That's right: there are two shows in Ohio tonight. Much attention has gone to the Tour of Champions show featuring seven corps in Massillon (which is where I'll be), but three hours to the southwest is a ten others are competing at the 35th annual installment of Soaring Sounds in Centerville, which is a suburb of Dayton. (However, there are even more corps, fifteen to be exact, competing in Indiana tonight, at the Open Class Prelims.) Here is the Soaring Sounds lineup: --Cincinnati Tradition (all age) --Academy --Jersey Surf --Pacific Crest --Oregon Crusaders --Colts --Spirit of Atlanta --Blue Stars --Blue Knights --Cavaliers Show website. According to the website, the first Soaring Sounds was in 1980, but CorpsReps doesn't list a "Soaring Sounds" or Centerville show that year. However, there is a Dayton show listed for July 13, 1980, and I'm guessing that's the one. It resulted in a tie between Crossmen and Spirit of Atlanta, followed by Cadets and Boston Crusaders. I'll kick off discussion with a question that occurred to me as I watched Colts' show last night in Pittsburgh: when the Scarecrow does find Dorothy, how is she going to react to the news that he murdered the Tin Man and Cowardly Lion? Or is he just not going to tell her?
  14. Drums Along the Mohawk Rome Free Academy Stadium 500 Turin St. Rome, NY 13440 Wed., July 30 -- 7:00 p.m. (EDT) I didn't see a thread for this one. Here's the show site. These are the corps in show order: Cascades Mandarins Oregon Crusaders Pacific Crest Troopers Blue Knights Madison Scouts Boston Crusaders Preceded at 6:45 p.m. by a performance from the Saints Brigade all-age corps. NWS indicates rain passing through the area right now, so I'm guessing a delay is possible.
  15. I didn't see a thread for tonight's show, so... Drums Along the Rockies - Cheyenne Edition Friday, July 11, 7:30 p.m. MDT Bison Stadium, South High School 1213 W. Allison Rd. Cheyenne, WY 82007 featuring: Pacific Crest Cascades Academy Oregon Crusaders Madison Scouts Troopers Starts in ten minutes. If you're there, post here!
  16. Firm, united let us be, rallying round our liberty! Tonight both Columbians and Eruption conclude their very short seasons in Tri Cities with their third shows. A few other corps are also performing. Drums Along the Columbia Fran Rish Stadium 1350 Lee Blvd. Tri Cities, WA 99352 From the Pressbox lists just the last four times; I'm guessing as to the rest: 7:38 p.m. Eruption 7:55 p.m. Columbians 8:12 p.m. Cascades 8:49 p.m. - Oregon Crusaders 9:06 p.m. - Crossmen 9:23 p.m. - Santa Clara Vanguard 9:40 p.m. - Blue Knights Pacific times, naturally. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. The show has a pretty nice website.
  17. Oregon Crusaders has made a pretty cool animation to try and describe why we drum corps people do what we do, what it takes to do it, and the impact it has on the community. http://oregoncrusaders.org/thekid/ The video with animation is pretty cool and was done by an OC vet.
