MikeD
I would think it pretty likely that some of the people wearing those shirts believe that a show dominated by narration shows a lack of respect for the activity. The show is dominated by great music and marching. Narration is the glue that holds it together...but it's less than 3 minutes of the show. rjb
You have aright to wear the shirt. I have the right to think you're an idiot. Passion this high for this cause is missplaced effort. While you think your making a statement and making the world safe for narration free drum corps. you're really just being rude to individuals who certainly are more talented and hard working then me (the young men and women in the corps). dccorpsfan
...or at least on the evening news.Hey, DCI, there's that mass appeal you're looking for! :P Now, as nasty as that would have been...it's still kinda if you think about it. Tom Brace
Amen. Now, if he had his message tattooed on his chest, then took of his pants and ran out onto the field and started to make out with a timpani...that would be disgusting. No...I think that would be the movie Borat.
4MalletJim
Disgusting: Gross, repulsive, nasty. thats the context most of you are thinking in. Disgusting: poor display of character or a defiant action. Thats the context he meant. Thank my own understanding of the english language for that. and I agree, that is like saying to a member of: Phantom: Your drill sucks ....see...I just that as an example btw. dccorpsfan
No...I think that would be the movie Borat. Oh, gracious! Can you imagine what would happen if they involved a drum corps in Borat? Now THERE is your mass marketing.
audiodb
Bottom line is, with some people, there is no proper time, place or method to express a dissenting opinion.
sburstall
...or at least on the evening news.Hey, DCI, there's that mass appeal you're looking for! :P True, you never, ever hear about someone streaking across a football field when the band (or drum corps) is on. sneakypete
Bb? You mean the note? While we're on the subject of shirts, here's a shameless plug for one I created: http://www.zazzle.com/fieldpaint/product/235715690203426077 Great shirt -- I just ordered 3 --- zazzle is super easy to use --- thanks for the great design! While I agree that the anti narration shirt is not in good taste and is not sporting, I think we would all agree that the Cadets would be the first to agree that it is the individuals prerogative to choose to voice their opinion in the manner they want to. 1st amendment is a good thing.
