Side note to the "what the Heck do we call it?" discussion. Just got back from performing at a local minor league baseball game at York, PA. In the program and on the PA announcements the word "Alumni" was never used, just "Drum Corps". Not that 99% percent of the people in the stands would know the difference.

But I did talk to an older guy working by a parking lot who remembered the competative corps and the old York White Roses (going back at least 30 years)....

s/ The guy who's still in his 40s... but only for a few more weeks...... :sshh: :doh:

Here are a few more suggestions:

"classic corps"

"traditional corps"

"old-school corps"

All these designations point to the fact that the majority of "alumni" corps emulate the styles (music, marching & drill) of the 1960's & 1970's. Anyone have any other suggestions?

yeah how about just "old" instead of old-school

like: Reilly Raiders/old or Buccaneers/old

it would just be understood when announced to mean the guys were too old to compete

j/k

you know, issue is made of Brett Favre retiring, that aint nothin!
