Twoshy21
Went to a theatre to view the quarterfinals with my father...actually, i must say, amazing. It was not the same as being there in person, and i kept wishin they'd turn the volume up in the joint haha, but still, amazing to see. Got to see a few shows for the first time. Bluecoats, Carolina Crown, and the most surprising to me...The Academy. West coast better watch out. Give it a few years. If the Academy can keep their thing together, personel and what not, that's gonna be one hell of a group to reckoned with! AMAZING horn line. Carolina Crown also pleased the #### outa me. I hadn't seen them since last year and it was an absolute treat. Their only problem, Bluecoats, Phantom, Cavalier, Cadets, and Bluedevils. That's a pretty big problem to have too. Galen
Went to a theatre to view the quarterfinals with my father...actually, i must say, amazing. It was not the same as being there in person, and i kept wishin they'd turn the volume up in the joint haha, but still, amazing to see. No kidding. A LOT of corps sounded muffled, especially Vanguard. You could hear their soloists loud and clear, but when the corps re-entered, it sounded like the hornline was a mile away. Whiskey
So how was the hi-cam angle? From the stadium monitor it looked pretty decent. I was worried about that as the Rose Bowl stands and pressbox move out then up like most stadiums.
27Socal
I watched the Quarterfinals at the Irvine Spectrum (Irvine, CA) tonight and had a great time. I hate to say it, but Hop made the evening even more interesting. Talk about making your $18.00 dollar ticket work. Controversy aside, I had such a fun time with Carolina Crown and Santa Clara Vanguard. Very entertaining shows. Having said that, I felt Blue Devils' show was spectacular and was clearly the strongest show of the evening. Their show is so brilliantly evil and powerful. It assaults your senses relentlessly. Quite honestly, the sound beats you into submission. I wondered about this. How many people were watching in Irvine? Why would you pay $18 to watch in a theater, when you could be sitting in the stands for $20?
slapnut
No kidding. A LOT of corps sounded muffled, especially Vanguard. You could hear their soloists loud and clear, but when the corps re-entered, it sounded like the hornline was a mile away. Last year I asked theater management to crank up the volume and that helped. kcsunshine
dear lord why does anyone go to Opry Mills when they could be in Green Hills with me!? it's a much better mall (Louis Vuitton, Tiffany's, Coach, Sephora, etc) and you're less likely to get shot at! ummmmm...maybe because it's an IMAX? Great crowd at Opry Mills Nashville and the sound was extra juiced.....just how I like it!
