Machine
My 5 favorites (in no particular order, because I'm lazy): SCV, Blue Knights, Bluecoats, Regiment, and someone else. Almost anyone else! These first 4 had me from beginning to end with their shows. Just about everyone else had their moments, some more than others, and I can't decide who should be ahead of who. AQFlamDrag
1. Cadets Narration argument aside, Cadets had one of the most demanding shows ever. I loved the musical programming and that brassline was filled with talent. 2. Crown Definitely Crown's best show ever, and the best design of any show this year. The guard was phenomenal and the percussion is definitely on the right track after last year's mediocrity. 3. Phantom Nowhere close to Faust but still a stellar production. 4. Vanguard Looks like SCV is back on the pre 05 track. 5. Cavaliers A very fun show. Quite unlike the Cavie's shows of the last 7 years. jwillis35
If I were judging I would say the top 5 would stay the same as it was on finals night, but with Bluecoats in 5th. But that's my bias. The judges did a great job this year. It could not have been easy, not with that many incredible shows. On entertainment value: 1. Crown 2. BLOOOO! 3. BD (yes, I loved this show) 4. Cadets (loved the musical book and the drill) 5. Phantom and BK in a tie (I love BK's Shostakovich 10 treatment. Very nice) Also loved Cavaliers this year. As always their drill is amazing, and their horns still get such a wonderful sound. They are still top 3 for a reason...they are amazing. Special mention to Troopers for my personal favorite ballad on the field, and to the Colts for one of the most tuneful and beautiful shows on the field. supersop
Based on the show itself ... Design and Effect goes as follows: 1) Crown 2) SCV 3) Coats 4) PR 5) BK 6) Crossmen 7) Academy 8) Madison 9) Cadets 10) Spirit 11) Cavies T12) Colts T12) BD yeah it's a top 12 ... but that's the order I would choose.
