This I Believe - the ultimate Cadet

Recommended Posts

The story with teh buckle.....MAJOR MAJOR goose-flesh here right now! Very similar to SCV DM John-David Minjares wearing his MOTHER'S SCV star during finals!!!

Y'know....SCREW the narration debate...THIS is the kind of story I like reading from Cadets...the bonding, the brother/sisterhood, teh family through the years...and isn't what it's ALL about in the end??

I had the pleasure of marching with Dave; he's just as amazing as he sounds in his essay. I'm so glad he had the opportunity to go on the field with the Cadets in finals.

Peace,

Wow... I remember looking over and seeing him kissing the ground that night. Thought it was a wierd good luck thing... amazing the story behind it. Left me speechless...

I just got Dave's Middle Horn Leader from Amazon. A great read if you are a drum corps fan. He goes day to day with 84 Garfield - really interesting.

Thanks for posting this...awesome story!

I

regret that I am unable to include the powerful photos that were a part of his

posting, but I don't have the computer expertise to make the transfer.

The one thing that really stood out to me about this article was this line:

"I was allowed to sing along with the corps, all of us connected with our right hands on the left shoulder of another Cadet."

Note the word "us" in the same sentence as "Cadet".

Pretty cool for that bond at that moment to reach back 20+ years.

I wish there were MORE of THESE stories here! :)

Thanks!

Chris
