PhillyDCIMontreal
Cymbal lines.... lots and lots of cymbal lines... There is no need for extra busses. Todays charter busses hold more seats then the old days/ old busses. No more... 'two seats to yourself' :P
Galen
Guard, most likely. It's the most economic use of those extra members (ie flags cost much less than horns or drums).
abercrombiedevon
havent most corps been marching 72 horns lately instead of the more common 64?
bearz
Add 'em all to the horns. I want "blow your face off" sound coming from the corps.
Hrothgar15
Add 'em all to the horns. I want "blow your face off" sound coming from the corps. Totally agreed. The volume I heard from Kingsmen Alumni--that's around the same level of volume I want to hear from everyone in the top 12.
loudandproud
excuse me, I have to go make room on the equipment truck for 10 more mellos and 5 more tubas. No problem, there's plenty of extra room
Medeabrass
In general, I'm thinking the additional members will be on the additional bus every corps is going to have to travel with ... I thought the whole reasoning for going to 150 was because there were empty seats on the current standard for charter buses. The reasoning is that if we're going to have these seats, why not fill them with paying members to help disperse costs of membership a little more. I was thinking the same thing as you until someone explained it to me. Whether all corps are actually using these buses is another question. Gentleman Marcher
Normal drumline: 9 snares. 5 tenors. 5 basses. Add 15 members: 9 snares. 5 tenors. 5 basses. 15 cymbals. Enough for all the snares and tenors to play on, and the bass drums can share the other one. Imagine the vyper with fifteen guys.
