markdewine
I just wanted to share a quick thought with everyone, of one reason Moe is so special. Like many people, I went through a stage once, where my self-esteem was not at it's best. Then, I got a Moe Knox photo of me in uniform, and I was able to tell myself, "Hey, ya know...I'm somebody!" Thanks Moe.
Jimbalaya
Great thoughts from both Mark & Mike (M&M's?). I like the concept so much I'm fowarding both posts to our Long Range Planning chairman. I don't know what contractual authority either DCA or DCI would have over Moes' product vis a vis his working for various drum corps publications, but if he produces his product as a freelance photojournalist, then his work product could be sacrosanct. Agreed there would be a first right of survivorship consideration to his family if he so appoints, but the concept of two "Moe Knox Scholarship Funds" has extreme merit. What a legacy........ Thanks guys J
donincardona
so if it's not money why was he disqualified??
markdewine
Maybe the WDCHOF doesn't accept people who have a "photographic memory" or "memories of photographs"!!! b**bs
G-horns
Jimbalaya- Thanks for setting that issue straight re: Moe not being disqualified, due to earning some $ in the activity. And here's another thought...Admittedly, it's not my decision to make, but what if a trusted guardian were given all of Moe's archives, to have digitally preserved for posterity. This, of course, would not happen until such time as Moe no longer had need of his photos, and certainly not without his blessing. Then, any further sales of these photos would generate funds to be put into 2 scholarship funds bearing Moe's name. The money from the sale of junior corps photos would go into a DCI "Moe Knox Memorial Scholorship Fund" and money from senior corps photos would go into a DCA fund, of the same name. Annually, a deserving student from each group would receive a donation, to help further their education. All thanks to Moe. :) Thoughts? Not a bad idea. But suggest that scholarship elegibility be limited to those students enrolled in a program of study related to the graphic arts.

overthehillDM
Al... Great post! You are SO right!!! Moe is incredibly deserving of being in the drum corps hall of fames! He has ALWAYS been there at just about every show that I've ever attended, over the last 30 plus years! And he has provided us with thousands of amazing photos, and some wonderful memories! He is truly a drum corps legend!

KeithHall
Can't believe after all these years he isn't in the hall of Fame! I ran into MOE KNOX at the Brookyln United concert on Sat.the first question I asked him was he in the drum corps hall of fame. He told me no . I was shocked. I grew up seeing Moe at every drum corps event I was at as a child and the world of drum corps became alive to me through his pictures in the old DRUM CORPS NEWS. This is a man who very much deserves the HALL HONOR. he was still taking pics at the concert. If anyone knows who votes on these things ,lets share some MOE KNOX stories and see if we can get this man the recognition he deserves. Moe told me he was excluded from the hall because he made money off of drum corps. selling photo's. how many HOF members did drum corps full time and made a living off of it. a few . I do believe it is time to add MR. KNOX to the DRUM CORPS HALL OF FAME ALAN CHEZ
