MikeD
I wish i could hear someone do some "Jekyll and Hyde" in a big way!No disrespect to the Glassmen who put that out a few years ago, i mean it was a cool show, but just didnt have that "Knock Out Punch" that most of the other broadway DCI corps over the year had. Part of the problem is Corps/Bands etc have been doing the same songs for years every time they do a musical. For example, if someone says "lets do westside story", everyone rolls thier eyes and says "its been done". Well, there is 2 horus of music in that hasnt been done yet! I saw a band a few years back that did a "Sound of Music" show without playing "The Sound of Music". However, they did play, for some reason, "Doe, Re, Mi"...twice. Fran Haring
I saw a band a few years back that did a "Sound of Music" show without playing "The Sound of Music". Might not be the same band, but I saw one at a USSBA show several years ago that did what I thought was a great version of "The Sound of Music".... all the tunes were syncopated versions of songs from that musical, so while you were listening you'd be like, "Hey.....I know that stuff, but I've never quite heard it like that." Very creative and well-performed, IMO. Fran
Lance
Yes...that was the real start of them becoming one of my favorites. Me, too. I always wished they had switched the 3rd number and the closer, though. But that show really got me into Crown for the first time.
Martybucs
Actually, with their history, I'm surprised Cavies have never done the musical, "Barnum".
Robert Kirby
Actually, with their history, I'm surprised Cavies have never done the musical, "Barnum". Some snior corps needs to do "Barnum" at Barnum! Robert
Robert Kirby
I meant to post this when I first observed it, but first one thing and then another interfered. Did anyone else notice Scott Boerma's UM marching band at their bowl game. "Ladies and gentlemen, Springtime for Hitler!" Absolutely stunnin'.
