BozzlyB
I'm curious where folks come down on this issue. In the grand scheme of things, should the top priority be to provide a quality educational experience, or to win at all costs.

markdewine
Education. All aspects of competition would be a sub-heading of education. i.e.- learn how to win; learn how to lose; teamwork, dedication, pride, humility, etc. Ultimately, it's all education, IMO. What about the role of a drum corps as an asset to its community? So maybe the choices shoud be : Education, Competition, or Community Service

sburstall
What about the role of a drum corps as an asset to its community? So maybe the choices shoud be : Education, Competition, or Community Service For the modern drum corps (past 15 years) community really doesn't have much meaning since very few members come from the community. If the corps was truely a community based organization, then they would be doing things in the off-season as well, e.g. Christmas parades, Thanksgiving parades, etc. And even during the season they would still make time to do things for the community.
