High Percussion for 2008 Goes to...Brass...Colorguard

Recommended Posts

Please give your picks and reasoning behind your thoughts.

For me this year:

High Percussion: Phantom Regiment (Perc. this year sounds so...musical! Snares sound deep and warm, very classical. This crew is playing an insane book at a high level

High Brass: Tough one. Right now it is Crown, but PR might win out in the end. Crown's got the wall of sound, PR is playing very dynamic. BD however is extemely talented.

High Guard: Crown or BD. Crown has been unbelievable last couple years. BD is doing some very cool stuff.

Phantom IMHO will be getting the Fred Sanford High Percussion award this year and possibly the Jim Ott High Brass.

BD has had about 4 good decades with a top colorguard (FYI)

Just give Regiment the Sanford trophy now. No other section even comes close. They will win drums by atleast 0.4.
