DCA 2008 Preliminaries Coverage

Low brass opens the next piece, with a definite tango feel. Wow, I thought that was a bari soloist, but it's a CONTRA playing way the Hell north of Pittsburgh in terms of range.

A Mis Abuelos, very much in the style of '96 Madison.

Again, a lot of standing still while playing. That's not going to help their visual scores if they keep this up.

Nothing like a fantastic screech contra!!

And he's doing it again!!!! Reminds me of the soprano/contra duet from '80 27th Lancers.

And Alliance beat this??? That's impressive because MCL is on fire tonight!

Dancer in the Dark ('02 Bluecoats, '05 Cadets). Mello soloist up front playing the melody.

Wind is not helping with the stages on the field. The curtains are blowing enough where you can see the guard changing equipment and/or uniforms.

MCL's doing the same thing Cadets did - Drum line joins in one player at a time as the music builds to a climax.

Mellophones just wailed! Great sound!

Getting some pedal tones from the contras on the last note. Crowd really likes what MCL did with Dancer in the Dark.
