drummersgirl
Exactly. You can blow the walls down with a great sound. You play as loud as you can within your control. haha

Yes, but there are times when it's ok to toe the line a little bit too.

ouooga
I think what Matt was trying to convey was one of the judges tapes we as a corps got to listen to that had those comments on it during our 3rd tune and our closer. Can't remember the judge, but we were all gathered around in the gym we were at, and we all kinda had the "seriously?!" look on our faces.Edit: In fact, if you look closely on the DVD, that tape is hanging from the DM podium Oh ya! I remember talking to the dad of a member of Teal at finals this year. I guess there was a comment by a judge that was something to the effect of "Wo, back off Teal. It's not like you're a World Class corps..." Anyone know the judge?

Yeah... not to rip on SCVC or BDB (huge respect for both), but the fact that the judges were ripping on us too season for being "too loud" and "too big" kind of makes me think that these Open Class guys have things a bit mixed up. What happened of the concept of corps being about entertaining the crowd? I can guarantee that the majority of the crowd was more entertained by us and Surf than some of those guys ahead of us... but that's just me. I'm biased, but I'm not bitter. It was a pretty darn good season anyway, dirty feet and all. The new unis look awesome Randy! I hope I'll get a chance to see them on the field! Brawny
And just to throw in my two cents (plus join in on the reunion of teal people... it is that time of year again...) I did hear a judge say that we ended our second song too aggressively because he was standing literally right behind me at the end of the second song. Just putting that out there. The new unis are looking hot! Edit haha: Now now some of us probably were overplaying a bit but that's because the judges had us slotted in 5th already. Another note go check out the head cam from the last run before quarters because we played too loud we covered up corps performing on the field at quarterfinals. Silly me to think that 10 blocks and facing the other direction was a big enough distance haha Just throwing out my love to my 08 hornline  Edited December 10, 2008 by Brawny
