JimF-LowBari
Am I the only one who remembers Donny Allen's solo in "Legend Of The One Eyed Sailor" - Phoenix 1976? I'm guessing no one from Phoenix 76 remembers it either. And Frank Ponzo's "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" (90?) is bugle phrasing mastery. LOL, the Legend solo probably was the lowest pitch solo I ever hear then turned into a butt kicker... Don't Cry was my late moms fav Cabs song, last time she was able to get out to hear it was 1990. Matadors 1980 Rocky fanfare plus the solo later on. Funny thing is a few years after I joined the Lancers, found out one of our sops was one of the fanfare trio members. I believe 81 was his first year. Edited August 12, 2009 by MBbabe
FPonzo
I don't know if anyone mentioned it yet, but almost anything Curt Hawkins (Cabs) plays is musical gold. Gotta give big props to his solo in 2003 during "The Prayer". Gorgeous. Hey Chris.... See post # 32!!!! And for the record.....I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!!!!
