i agree witgh you till the judges statement,,,lmao...what planet u on?

I have just grown tired of the fact that every time there's a show, no matter who wins, the immediate reaction is "The judges were idiots; so and so was robbed." And I think it's hilarious that every Joe the Plumber out there thinks he knows everything about who should have won. Forget the 5 people who are trained, been through a long approval process, judge a specific caption with specific criteria, and have done it for years. I decided a long time ago to just like who I like and leave the decisions to the people paid to make them.

sorry...subcaptions! they went from 8 in all ensemble subcaptions to 1st in all ensemble subcaptions. In response to the whining about judging. Please take a look at the scores and tell me how it makes sense NEI went from 2nd by a tenth to SCV in ensemble yesterday and went to 6th tonight....even having Sac much much higher than them.

Who says the judges weren't biased in prelims? I guess it's only biased judging when it doesn't swing your opinion's way, but then again, isn't that how it always ends up?

I think the concerns about the judging go deeper than whining about placements. All season, there have been concerns about inconsistent feedback between judges in the same caption at different shows, and even the same judges from show to show. It is frustrating and bewildering to try to USE the commentary given to make the show better, only to have the next panel, and sometimes the same judge who gave earlier commentary, give exactly opposite opinions a week or two later. Before anyone jumps on me, I have voiced my concerns to the people who can try to help make some sense of this and hopefully address the concerns of the instructors. I hope that the discussions about judging can be handled in a productive and helpful way to motivate change for next year instead of turning into a blaming contest.

The ordinals at World Championships changed dramatically in many captions in virtually every class from day to day this year. I don't think anyone is asking for anything more than consistent feedback and a consistent idea of what range they fit in competitively. I thought SCV was incredible and definitely deserved their win. Aimachi was better than I expected, and I really enjoyed their show as well. I personally thought they'd come in either 2nd or 3rd, and would have been fine with either placement. As the others before me said, Northeast was beautiful Saturday night, and everyone in the section I was sitting in was STUNNED when they were announced in 4th.

While obviously disappointed and confused by the outcome, it was also great to see them handle themselves with class and dignity both on the floor and at headquarters later. While I talked with some of the Northeast members and staff, MANY people came up to express their disappointment in the final rankings, and each time the were gracious and appreciative while never blaming or being bitter. Obviously, I've loved them for a long time for many reasons, but this weekend showed me even more why I'm glad the kids in my program are fortunate enough to learn from and interact with such a classy organization.

I loved SCV!!! It was one of just a handful of shows [and I watched at least 50 of the 60 guards that went on on Saturday] where i felt the energy through the feed without having seen it live first.

And I felt like I could've liked Aimachi if I had been able to see the performers better [they blended into the floor a LOT], and if the feed hadn't been so focused on baton. I've got friends who spin baton and respect that it's difficult....but these are guard championships, not majorettes, and I paid all my money to watch people spin "real" equipment, you know?

I also really enjoyed Corona, but again with the busy floor. All I can hope is that the performers were easier to discern from the floors live...
