Tom D'Bomb
From my observation the Bucs are balanced in all areas, the other corps are not consequently, they are winning handily. With the way the schedule shakes out It will be interesting to see how the programs develop and if there is enough time for the corps chasing the Bucs to make the moves neccessary to possibly overtake them. The magic word: Balance

Tom D'Bomb
...in Blue? As in, any corps who ends up beating them has to have balance. If you have a weakness in a caption from one year to the next, fix it (preferrably in the winter).

rayfallon
"....I got into the stadium as Sun was wrapping up. It was too bad that Sun & Bush had to go on after Skyalumni. Not that they didn't do a decent job, it's just that everone's hearing wasn't as good after Sky played Elks Parade. I heard this from the parking lot ..."Now THERE"S a review Thanks!! --Rich Rich, You're pleased that someone is reviewing you by what they heard from the parking lot? Ah.. never mind... Lest we forget, folks used to get run over by people stampeding from the parking lot to the stadium when Sky was coming on. Oh, what's the use? One interesting point, Frankie, is that they are winning handily, yet there is not, as of yet, an insurmountable spread. The possibility, no matter how small, still exists that any one of 3 - 5 corps could get into that ballpark with over a month of practice yet to come. As a rule of thumb, clearly not always, but often the corps at the top doesn't have as much room to improve as dramatically as the ones chasing. Plus there is zero pressure on the chasers. If you don't catch them, no one expected you to. You can attack with reckless abandon. Sometimes this really makes for some exciting drum corps. If say, Hurcs, Empire, Cabs, and Minnesota all pull out all the stops and really try some stuff in August, as well as cleaning up, one of them may just catch lightning in a bottle. It's how every reigning champion's reign has eventually been broken. It's where the fun is!!!
VOReason
One interesting point, Frankie, is that they are winning handily, yet there is not, as of yet, an insurmountable spread.Nor have they opened an insurmountable spread over the past 4 years. The modern scoring sheets make it very difficult to establish spreads over relatively close competitors. Sure there may be a spread between first and say seventh, but between first and third, not so much. This scoring system is meant to RANK. And if your corps wins by .05 or 5 points, it's still a win....and a convincing win if your corps is winning every caption (except for guard) such as Reading is. Sorry if this spoils all the fun.... Have any of you seen ALL the top 10 DCA corps? There's still plenty of fun to go around. Nobody is spoiling anybody's fun. Bucs have had two shows. No need to go into your Deion Sanders Touchdown Dance Strut yet.
