Kyle B
Every decade, the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame votes on it's Corps of the Decade. Past winners are: 1940's: Holy Name Cadets 1950's: St. Vincent Cadets 1960's: Chicago Cavaliers 1970's: Santa Clara Vanguard 1980's: Blue Devils 1990's: Cadets of Bergen County Who do you think is going to earn it? Championship years: Cadets - 2000, 2005 Cavaliers - 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006 BD - 2003, 2007, 2009 Phantom - 2008 I've also iVanguard even though they have won a championship this decade just because they've still put out quality shows. EDIT: Removed Crown. Edited August 11, 2009 by Kyle B
bawker
Cavaliers, I'd say . . .the visual/musical revolution they introduced from 2001 on is just as legendary of a dynasty as the Cadets of the early 80's.
Matt_S
Um, duh. I'd ask for the name of any other corps that's won five times in the same decade, but there aren't any. Even if you want to look at non-championship years, this past season was the only year this decade where the corps failed to medal. Only the Blue Devils come close, but I don't see any argument for putting them over the Cavaliers.
UWGKKpsi
I chose Cavaliers... and it wasn't even about the 5 wins. I tried to think of another drum corps who revolutionized DCI more in the 2000s than Cavies and just couldn't do it.
JT76
Cavies, they won half of the decade, not to mention they have the highest score in DCI history.
Dylan Ford
The Cavaliers.
Jami
Cavies - no contest
Matt_S
I dare anyone who voted for Crown to defend their selection, over not just the big three of the Cavaliers, Cadets and Blue Devils but even over Phantom. If it continues that Crown has more votes than the combined total for Vanguard, Phantom and the Cadets then it's the best evidence yet for keeping fan voting out of the final score. newterak
My vote goes for cavies... but i'm a little confused about the past winners, it seems like the Cadets and Blue Devils have their decades flipped. Its just not how I think of the 80s or 90's but I guess they were voted that way?
MikeN
I was thinking the same thing - seems like Cadets were more influential / bigger in the 80's and BD in the 90's. Mike
