donincardona
How does Quest do competitively? What I've seen from Alliance is mind blowing. i saw a clip of their drumline 2 months ago and they were good. they had some nice licks! kevingamin
Now on the field are the CorpsVets, also from Atlanta, Georgia. Their 2009 program is entitled “Southern Suite” and consists of: I Got Plenty of Nothin' (from Porgy and Bess) The Letter (from The Color Purple) Miss Otis Regrets Maybe God is Trying to Tell You Something (The Color Purple)
kevingamin
This is CorpsVets first year on King multi-key horns. I'm getting a rich sound from the tubas, who are right in front of me. Personally, that's my measure of how good a line of horns are: How do the contras/tubas sound?
Todd Tanji
This is Todd Tanji. Time to BLOG!!! Man I love DCA, especially when the weather is so nice.
kevingamin
A tiny bit of overblowing from the tubas during the ballad as they built to a climax, but, overall, a balanced sound from the horns. Tubas are working again during Miss Otis Regrets. Park in blow in front of me. Nice intricate playing while putting out some sound.
Todd Tanji
Corpsvets on and are really swinging, as one would expect. Big ole red and white plumes with classic Corpsvet uni's. Guard in HOT pink.
keyp
Come on CorpsVets, let's see what you are made of!
kevingamin
I hate to say it, but, after Alliance's drum line, CorpsVets is a let down. It's not like they're playing their hearts out, just Alliance is a lot stronger.
