Jaminbenb
Had a bottle of Troegs Dream Weaver recently Not as good as I hoped, not to my taste, but it was obviously well thought out and brewed, just not for me. And what you are both saying is you can DRINK Brut Cologne!?!?!?!?!? AM I understanding this correctly? And not fall into convulsions and die!? I'd rather drink Coors light! Nope, no Brut has ever passed these lips! Dreamweaver isn't their best...I'm more of a Tröegenator/Mad Elf/Hopback/Nugget Nectar fan. Their pale ale is pretty good as well in a pinch. Boom knows!! Jaminbenb
W, I misunderstood your query.... There were a select few that DID drink Brut...I didn't know you didn't know about it, and I'm surprised that you didn't hear it in Alumni-land! The drum line crew that marched 85-88 (I think that's about where it stopped) used to drink Brut cologne as some sort of "hype" Personally I'm surprised no one died or got brain damage from it because it DID contain some nasty things! (I think it was taken off of the market, in it's original form at least, because of health concerns! and THAT was because off it's INTENDED use...I can only imagine what long term effects it may have given people from actually DRINKING it!) Jeff Ream
Gah! Natty Bo! Couldn't agree more. I have one bottle left of Oatmeal Stout here. My tastes are rather choosy with Beer. Drank some Russian Imperial Stout recently. Good stuff. Still need to sort out parking in H-Burg wish me luck. And Poole- that's not Charlie Poole the DCI judge!?!?!?!? no Chris Poole. he is director of a band down by the border. Charlie Poole, DCI and DCA judge....gave me the single biggest thrill with his ex tape in 2000 when I teched Bucs. "Bass drums good God...those are some mammoth moments out there" then, during Jupiter ballad, holds the tape recorder out, pulls it back in and says "the playing speaks for itself", then holds it back out til the gun ( lastyear of the gun in DCA btw) even better...... 9.9 in ex with 3 lines to go. thats balls. I think his wrap up ended with "as you know I dosome travelling in the junior world...." then proceeded to tell us we werent far off for weekenders. That hangover felt as good as the one in 96. Oh wait in 96 i never slept

JimF-LowBari
Saw the Brut stuff in 85 but no idea if it started there or what the deal was. Figured it was too ####ed up to even watch. 85 we picked up two drummers from MD(?) that had a beater car that might have been missing a side window. They were the ones I saw getting (over) hyped on the Brut. About the time they joined we picked up the bus at CV about 2AM and I was worried about oversleeping. So I go to 24 hr Elbys, eat and park in the back lot at CV for some ZZZs. Little later a car come up with the high beams on right behind me. I get PO'ed and 5 seconds before (thank goodness before) I shot the finger.... the bubble gum lights go on. I hope up with a "Good Evening!" and hope to Hell they knew about the buses. Nope, but had a corps bumper sticker and they could tell I wasn't sleeping it off. Then they wanted to know about the crap car in the corner of the lot and I couldn't tell if it was the MD drummers or not. "Dunno, we have people joining and dropping out all the time". Yeah, 85...I remember someone telling me about it at a show...the two guys were probably Kelbaugh and Cougar....they were from the Hagarstown area. Wow...that would have been funny to hear if you got nailed for flipping off a cop!

JimF-LowBari
Wow...that would have been funny to hear if you got nailed for flipping off a cop! Yeah.... in my mid 20s, bushy beard and trying to stretch across the back seats of an Escort at Oh-dark 30. LOL, nothing suspicous here folks..... Cops probably spotted me from the red light on the Pike. Can you image Pete and Al... "His car's here, where is he?" Few years later I was at Puget Sound Navy Base in WA state. I was looking at the ships in the harbor and I hear "Excuse me". Turn around and security guard is like --> "What are you doing sir?" "Looking at the ships" (Like WTH else was there?) "Why?" Finally caught Hell for not having my picture badge outside of my coat (no one does that) while walking outside. Felt like saying "We don't have ships at Mechanicsburg" but no one outside of Central PA believes that. And no, I don't fit across the back seats of an Escort....
