Tommy Sipe 1982:

"sylvia, do you think i can get one as high in the air as the press box?"

"Tommy if you do, dear god catch it so no one dies. especially me in the closer"

I remember back in 79 when Jim Kyle did a high toss and it landed on my (well IN my) timpani! I needed to change that head anyway!

And for those in the crowd that are under the age of 25..that's a MARCHING timpani! hahaha!!!

Thank G-G-G-God that it wasn't Tommy though...with the velocity that thing would have picked up during re-entry, that plastic head would have ignited!!!!

todays Westshore memory of the day:

1983 prelims. Sylvia takes her horn, and starts to play her solo in "all The Things You Are"

she decides to go out on the track while playing

a short time later "and in 4th place, with 2.0 in penalties...."

PENALTY WOMAN!

I blame his breaking his finger on his "technique"! hahaha! (he's going to kill me for that comment hahaha!)

Actually, no one ever told him that he shouldn't do "rim shots" on timpani!
