dbg
Bringing back Metheny is good.......now they should just bring back Thurston, then maybe I'll be hyped about it.
bawker
I really, really, really just want them to PLAY First Circle and Heat of the Day. I will be stoked if they actually PLAY a FULL chart all the way through (or at least part of the way through). IF that happens, I will probably be happy. If it's another year of Guidry chop-n-bop, I will be disappointed. I will reserve judgment until I hear the arrangements. I agree with this. Guidry's arrangements are great midi files . . .but they lose something along the way, IMO. If we can get a little less rococo, "look at how I weaved this into a counter-melodic line" and a little more "hey, we're the Crossmen, time to knock you on your ###" with these charts, it would be appreciated. Still, though, Crossmen + Metheny just feels right. It's the most I've anticipated a show from them since the move down to Texas.

Kyle B
Won't be able to get excited til I hear it. Am I going to hear huge new twist with first circle and heat of the day with little melodies and counter melodies taking turns with small motifs... Or am I going to be able to recognize what they are playing because the melody last longer than 2 seconds and they are going to have the groove back! I'm hoping the later!!!!! RUFreak
I really hope this show turns into what 2002 should have been. We shall see!
TerriTroop
i wonder how long till the first comment of... "metheny again...?"personally, I am stoked, i can listen to 'heat of the day' ALL day! now im curious about the show concept direction. based on the logo, it seems like they are running with the ideas of shape/form. Hey, I think it's page 3 already and nobody has done that so far! Yay! I'm happy for the Crossmen, and I wish them the best in 2010!
BMBob
This is definitely good. The upcoming season is looking like it will be a pleasing one for me - lots of great music out there.
